Impressive just caught this on pimp from Drak . before I went to bed .. it was just perfect .. ty very much for posting... that's it .. I'm getting JP4! lol Only improvement I could think of was the bit starting at 2:53 sounded a bit clumsy, piano and rest didn't seem quite in step with each other .. perhaps that was the intention. Thanks, but... No way am I way ahead of Drakonis, if that's who you meant. :-) His compositions have perfect timing, every note is impeccably placed. Ohhh... Thank you for such kind words, my brother. I'm glad you liked this. I always have music in my head, and sometimes I can express what I am feeling with the notes. There is still much for me to learn about GarageBand, but I'm learning, step by step. Whimsy! Did you intend "Pop Goes The Weasel?" ... well, I heard it and smiled. ... This whole piece is so interesting. It started off sounding like a church hymn with organ and brass...and then just kept getting better with the addition of counterpoint and your very original orchestration. It just happened Hi, Paul. :-) I didn't have anything in mind; I just started penciling in notes and this is what happened. I don't know enough about composing to have a plan and structure it accordingly- i just put down what sounds good to me and hope for the best. <G> I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for encouraging me to write more classical pieces. This is quite delightful, playful, and downright professional-sounding!
This is a whole different style for you, and you pulled it off really well!
The piece starts off slowly, in a sort of disjointed way, and then the
piano comes in and pulls the rest of the orchestra along, getting them
all to march along. Nice pacing, thoughtfully orchestrated (I like the
way you handed parts of the melody off to different instruments here
and there.) You carefully separated the instruments out to left/right so
they were clear... the ending was perfect... um... I can't think of much
to critique, except that I better study some more, you'll soon be way
ahead of me!
