I was working on a different set of lyrics for this horn melody when this story got "ripped from the headlines."
Lyrics:
ANOTHER SCANDAL IN CONGRESS (2006)
Another Congressional scandal emerged involving inappropriate sexual behavior
Republican and Democrats alike are calling for a full investigation
Most representative claimed they had no previous knowledge of the matter
The public deserves a full report of the shocking and disturbing issue
They are asking for an investigation of the chain of information
They want to know what they were told and when they were told it
It’s an obscene breach of trust, unacceptable and abhorrent
Some are demanding the accused party should offer an immediate resignation
Which should be followed by the full weight of the criminal justice system
The guilty party should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law
Meanwhile, others want to undertake a full review of the situation
And propose additional safeguard measures so it can never happen again
There’s a moral obligation to protect the country’s children
As for political consequences - it could lower the already dismal view of incumbents

How appropriate - music for clowns.
I think anyone wanting to be a politician should spend a month in prison,
so that if they survive that month and decide to continue in their career
aspirations, every decision they make from then on is informed by that

Or maybe because the crisis response is so predictable? I think that's what got me this time around - the well-phrased responses sounding so impeccably good, but meaning little.

Oh yes, this is what you're talking about. We have talked about
songifying random snippets of junk mail or junk politics that invade
our eyes hourly. You have done a nice prototype of that concept.
Powerful and melodious. You gave it the full WKS. Bravo. I suggest
adding timid canned applause at odd intervals. Plus, a cat's tail being
stepped upon. Maybe the historic sound of that other Warren allegedly
opening and closing a large white closet door?

I wanted to say more in my comment, but it kept transforming into a wandering rant about the thugs in power. I will say that I like the music you put together; it's very fitting for your voice, and I like your writing. Maybe if we're very lucky, the unbalance of power will change next month.
