Description
Nothing profound here in this little blurb about this song. Some songs just need to be recorded because they make you tap your feet and feel good, and because this is one of those songs, I said WTF? ... I'll post it. Turn the crank on the Edison Phonograph and Enjoy!

I had forgotten
Thanks for reminding me of the old Edgar Winter stuff. I had forgotten about
them. Yes, there was some really tight and fast paced rock from both the
Winter brothers.

definite groove
Nice feel to the drums. I was really digging the song until the Aerosmith bassline came in at the 1/4 mark. Sounded a bit derivative. I like the time sig changes near the middle of the song. The bass and drum interlude is pretty cool, but I think it could use a little something more. Overall a pretty well constructed song.

thanks for stopping by
And thanks for commenting. I put just about everything but the kitchen sink
in this so I'm not sure I am capable of adding anything else. Besides the
drummer died shortly after this from exhaustion LOL>

it's so familiar
love all the familiar riffs!

there's something about the sound tho, it sounds like a FM radio - the
bass rolls off around 80 Hz... is that on purpose?

Familiar it is
Smoke, thanks for the comment. I do everything on purpose ... of course! I
did not really try to hard to disguise the riffs on this one. I really went crazy
on the drum parts. It is a little thin on the bottom end compared to some of
the stuff I do. I really wanted to make this sound like a working rock band, so
I used some amp simulation and some other tricks but refrained from a wide
spread on the bass sounds. I also needed to blend some widely diverse bass
sounds into single track and a slight thinness helped make them sound more
like one instrument.

Besides those reasons, I have a radio background ... why not make it sound
like radio? ;->

Re: rock on
I'm glad you liked it. I built it around the drums and then rebuilt the drums
around the song, and then added a few more drum track extras.

You should see the Edison I have in my living room. A Diamond Disc player
from about 1920 or maybe earlier. Really cool. About 75 discs too! The
original analog sound!

Thanks for the comment
I've given up counting the hours I put into a composition. I just find it much
more rewarding and satisfying that watching TV at night and devote the time
it takes to make it perfect to my ears.
I'm gratified that you enjoyed.
