Lyrics:
I'm not heretical
Or Basic Chemicals
I'm not the type to force god to be tyrannical
It's nothing medical
Or theoretical
It's not the superstition bent to philisophical

They've run out of steam, it's over
The ethics implode, supernova
SOS has been sent, but the hero's have agendas
Got to please their sponsors

I won't hold guilt for you
I won't bow to your deeds
No towing party lines
You act as if there's no grace

I'm not heretical
Or Basic Chemicals
I'm not the type to force god to be tyrannical

Tread lightly under the water
Hope you can hold your breath
for a long time
Mistook me for a saint
Just like pulling the pin
And never letting go

I won't hold guilt for you
I won't bow to your deeds
No towing party lines
You act as if there's no grace

Who wants their demigod??
Cause I feel like I've got the power
We piss in corners
Of mankinds roundest rooms

I'm not heretical
Or Basic Chemicals
I'm not the type to force god to be tyrannical
It's nothing medical
Or theoretical
It's not the superstition bent to philisophical

This is killer! &mdash 10/07/06 - 03:10:16 PM
sounds incredible. Mix is great, perfromance is excellent.

As Vic Holman said, as good as anything you'll hear on the radio. Love the "Got to please the sponsors" line. Sooo damn true.

The song really takes off at the demigod part...

Rock on!
Mason

Sounds great (er, other than the bridge bit), with a cracking chorus.
Fantastic production too.

Great work guys.

Interesting set of lyrics guys, well produced and tight as the proverbial
fish's! The rhythm section pushes this along so well - I'm impressed!
Production excellent.

total bummer. This song is way to good to score some 5s... I'm ticked off, it's not even my song!

What's up with this being in the low 8's? &mdash 10/09/06 - 05:18:22 PM
This isn't the sort of thing I play, or even listen to much, but even I can
tell that this is a completely professional production. It's well written, well
played, well recorded and well sung. The older teenagers I work with
would eat this up... The lyrics in particular stand out... It deserves on its
own merits within its own genre to be getting a LOT of attention around
here.... Good photo, too, while I'm at it... Ed

as Ed said I'm a bit older and my tastes have quieted a bit, but I still
recognise quality and craftsmanship.. and this has everything that I
love in a good song... passion, thoughtful lyrics... mystery and
tension... and the production absolutley rocks

I see some votes that I don't agee with... I think I will compensate

nu skool cool &mdash 10/12/06 - 09:23:43 AM
I prefered this style to your Blinking 182 (or whatever they're called ;) song. Reminiscent of War Drums by A Perfect Circle. Kept waiting for it to really take off at the end though - maybe a slight change in tempo when that bass kicks in 3/4 way in, either faster there, or slow it right down Hanzel und Gretyl style with loads of heavyosity then speed it back up again to the regular tempo. Great production, very professional. Good work.

Excellent! &mdash 10/13/06 - 05:22:57 PM
I've listened to this quite a bit in the car the past few days. Great tune!
Ian, that is you on vox, right? In this one, you remind me of Whitfield
Crane, the lead singer in Ugly Kid Joe. It wasn't their music so much, but I
like his vocal style. (I'm a big fan of their "Motel Califorina" disk) I hope
you take this as a compliment. Nice one guys!

funny &mdash 10/14/06 - 11:57:04 AM
I saw Ugly Kid Joe in concert back in 1992.....Mr. Crane had really great stage
presence and they even did "SWEET LEAF" by Black Sabbath which was
sweet.....so thanks for the compliment......however, when in your car.....play it so
loud that it hurts the people in the car next to you....even if their windows are
up.....lol.....Thanks bro for spinning us....glad you dig it....oh yeah.....and that is
me (Ian) on vox and half of the guitars....peace....Ian
