Description
I don't trust the news service. I think of them as the real 3rd party. This song is my venture into the realm of political musings. Of coarse I do it with some sense of humor.
This is an older song I transfered from vinyl to mp3 so excuse the lo-fi quality. My friend Charlie Maxton helped me out by singing lead and Steve Bell is on the Drums. I play Guitars and Bass.
Recorded in San Francisco back in 1993 at a studio where PacBell Park now resides.

Lyrics
I turn the TV on most everyday
to hear what things the newsman has to say
To hear how smooth he reads it
as if he really means it
Another act another play
I hijacked my cable company,
so I can watch my CNN for free
To catch the latest rumours,
what famous star has tumors
The whole wide world is mine to see
I know it’s true cause I heard it on the news
Their points of views can leave ya so confused
But their smiling faces tell me
all the things that I like to believe
I’m so informed I’m so amused by the news
Where is old Walter now, that trusted friend?
Who told us how it was way back when.
I’ve turned to every channel, who’s taken on that mantle?
Or has it flickered out since then?
Chorus
A postal clerk has gone berserk today,
a tidal wave is heading out our way
the dollar bill is crashing, our planes and trains are crashing
our hopes and dreams are crashing
a big red light is flashing (stop)
Chorus
Well I know it’s true I know it’s true I know it’s true
Cause I heard it on the five o’clock news
