This brings together... &mdash 10/09/06 - 02:33:56 PM
...a lot of elements. There's a classical touch to it, but also a folkie
touch... nods to the Will Ackerman/Alex deGrassi realm of Windham Hill...
and a lovely little gesture in the direction of Pete Townshend...

Something about hearing the slate at the beginning reminds me that it's
performed by a human being... Makes it "live-er" in the consciousness...

You really do inhabit that guitar, Bill...

Flowing &mdash 10/09/06 - 08:44:30 PM
This one is really nice. During the second half, there almost seems like
some elements of The Who in your playing which I liked. Then it goes
back to the original nice gentle picking.

I'm always basically speechless when I hear your playing. You are both prolific and talented. As Ed said - you bring toether lots of nie styles here. Your technical elements are also top notch.

Improvisation? &mdash 10/12/06 - 03:58:15 PM
Enjoyed the video. You play with such feeling Bill. Nice to watch the video and see how intense you work those frets.

And yeah, I also spotted that there was a little of 'the who' in there.

I wonder if you play and record this mearly by improvisation, or after rehearsing some rounds to remember what it goes like...?

I try to get the basic in &mdash 10/12/06 - 08:19:35 PM
from the original. In fact there is an awful lot in there from the original. But I
love sometimes play it slower in parts, maybe faster in others etc.
Sometimes improvising to enchance the beauty etc.
Thanks for the questions.
