Keywords:
Classical (372)Romantic (32)
Description:
Another romantic song that evokes longing happy memories. Composed for piano only. I though of adding more instruments. May be I will if I get positive feedback. I still don't know who to get rid of the little echoes/bells only audible with high notes when I listen in my home stereo, although sounds very good with earphones....I tried fiddling with reverb, echoes, etc to no avail....I think is the Steinway piano software instrument that cames with orchestra pack, since its audible even when not modified...any suggestions or comments are welcome. All in all, I like the melody, and I hope you do to.

Lyrics:
none....composed to evoke your own lyrics and imagery when you listen with your eyes closed.

Hardware:
Yamaha Clavinova CVP-98

Software:
GB with Orchestra pack

Chopin &mdash 10/13/06 - 07:17:34 AM
Chopin is one of my all-time favorites. This ranks with some of his most
romantic melodies. Well done. I thought the piano sounded a tad
muffled, like an older recording, kind of adding to the experience actually
(even tho I wanted more hi end crispness), but well balanced and well
played.

Hi Tobin &mdash 10/14/06 - 07:54:24 PM
thank you for your comments. I have yet to find a piano sound I am satisfied
with....if you know of any piano software that is compatible with GB let me
know....I like the piano sound of my Yamaha Clavinova but I am not sure if it
can be used yet.

Wonderful &mdash 10/13/06 - 07:22:52 AM
There are some pieces that call for the warm beautiful simplicity of just
a piano, and my opinion is that this is just fine, as is. It does carry me
off to a romantic prior century (ala the movie "Somewhere in Time".)

As for finding the "bell" distortion/interference, have you tried using a
different instrument, like the regular piano, to see how that sounds?
Have you tried lowering the overall velocity of the keyboard so the MIDI
notes don't come in so loud (maybe the Clavinova has an adjustment
for that?) I don't hear the interference in here, but I do remember it on
another piece, and it almost sounded like "electronic beat frequency",
like two high-pitched devices interfering... so, have you tried
UNPLUGGING the clavinova from your computer, rebooting fresh, then
exporting to iTunes? It could be an artifact of converting to MP3...
have you tried creating a CD straight from the AIFF that is exported to
ITunes, to see if it is there? Well, since I cannot hear it in headphones,
it gives me (another) reason to fave this and download it to my e.g.
collection, and play it in the car this morning on the way to work.
Beautiful stuff!

Drakonis

Hello Drakonis! &mdash 10/14/06 - 07:58:02 PM
like always, your comments are very useful. I will try your suggestions. I have
been so busy at work etc I haven't had the leisure time I crave to expend more
time in Macjams. Thanks again

Oh, and another thing &mdash 10/13/06 - 07:42:15 AM
Since your music is so wonderful, and so publically available here, people
may give eachother the MP3 they downloaded from Macjams... you MUST
go into iTunes and add your Artist and Composer name in the info
window (sometimes called "ID3 tags" in MP3s.) That way your name
shows up in mp3 players with your music. This is a very important form
of advertising and simply giving yourself credit! I also put the Macjams
URL to my profile page in the "comments" field, to get people to check out
Macjams :-) But I *did* notice you put your nice photo in the mp3, thank
you!
ttfn,
Drakonis

High pitch audio sound is GP4 defect &mdash 10/14/06 - 08:35:23 PM
Piece is sweet and melodic to listen to.
Since I dunno Chopin from chopping, is this an original of yours?
Also:
You qualified: the little echoes/bells only audible with high notes.

This is a defect in the GP4 Steinway piano. I purchased GP4 and
installed on 4 diff macs & used 4 diff pianos, all the same result: the
little echoes/bells only audible with high notes.

Having worked QA @ Apple for 7 years, I called Apple Support on the
issue. They had no clue and/or advise. Some Apple forums do note
the same issue: the little echoes/bells only audible with high notes.

So, I got my $$ back from Apple for a "defective" product.

Hey Mac &mdash 10/15/06 - 01:30:59 AM
Yes, the piece is mine. As for the bells with high pitch notes I really appreciate
the information. I gues I will call Apple too. I wold like to know if there are any
other piano software products I can use with GB. I would really appreciate that
information. Thank you.

Lovely work &mdash 10/19/06 - 12:26:28 PM
A very sweet and lyrical piece in the style of Chopin. It was gentle and
very relaxing. I do agree that the piano could have been opened up a bit
there seemed to be some compression in the recording still a lovely work.

Hi Bowman &mdash 10/20/06 - 12:50:24 AM
Thanks for you comments. I am looking for software piano instruments for GB,
the more the better....any ideas? I am a little dissapointed with the Steinway in
Orchestra Pack due to little echoes/bells.

Piano software &mdash 10/21/06 - 07:11:19 PM
Wonderful piece Enrique. I love Chopin and your piece fits right into my
collection. About the software, ask John Stebbe. He is a superb MacJams
composer/pianist who uses something called Ivory.

Enrique, wonderful composition. Restrained and artfully done. All tech
glitches aside this is an excellent piece.
