Oh sure... I tell you, and you tell somebody else, and pretty soon the whole
world is using animated GIFs for their artwork... (??!) oh shoot, see, now you
made me say it, sigh. :-) This is what you do when you can't decide which
picture would be best, you use them all! ;-) Anyway, GIF doesn't have a good
color palette, so I made them greyscale on the web page here, but they are full-
color inside that MP3 you downloaded :-) Just "Get Info" in iTunes and zoom in
on the artwork tab.
Hopefully Woodguy approves of the artwork I chose for his remake.

I like your embellishments and the fun you are having with Ember. You have
taken it for a cross-country spin, and this is much closer to the original... and as
Alannah says, almost too close... I was hoping for a little more wood and
sawdust in there. Glad you didn't use any Bondo, this is solid and clean, nice

Woodguy here. As for the ending... its funny, but that little flourish is in the

happens, so you usually only barely hear the last gasp before it dies out. I guess
Woodie liked it and boosted it at the end :-)

especially when you come to pay a visit and comment, thank you! I too find that there's a balance in creating music... much of it requires attention to detail and "twiddling lots of knobs" (in my case, since I can't perform/sing worth beans), but deep down it is a very creative/emotional/visceral experience, and sometimes I get all excited and post my work without final double-checking... Hi Norman, and welcome to this great place, and thank you for stopping in and checking out one of the many versions of Ember (I shall go visit your page soon). I agree that this version has more upbeat elements, although I think the unadorned original "Ember-Rekindled" does have some light/dark ambiguity... something I am fond of trying to capture in my music... so I agree that PV was only partly joking when he said that. Woodguy here did a great job of playing his distinctive surf guitar sound on this. And of course, if you'd like to take Ember under your wing and create something from it, drop me a note!
