a movie score &mdash 10/17/06 - 02:36:16 PM
You should find a director and start writing movie scores. This is really good, Rob. A bit dark (!), but who cares for that... Especially love the atonal chords. The drums sometimes seem to stutter a bit in the beginning and ending. Or perhaps that was the intention? Great all over. - Walter [ Reply to This ]
Thank you very much Walter ! &mdash 10/20/06 - 01:29:51 AM
I appreciate your kind word. Any director can contact me ;)
The atonal chords come from my new keyboard - I don't know how to play.
But the stuttering drum are part of the concept.

Great piece &mdash 10/17/06 - 03:09:50 PM
A nice soundscape with effectful but discrete nature sounds. It is easy to
overuse lightning and thunder, but you have found the balance here I
think. Nice work! [ Reply to This ]
Thank you very much for your comment Henrik ! &mdash 10/20/06 - 01:36:18 AM
I tried to make a soundtrack for a rainy day - the rain is made of 4 different
sounds out of GB - glad you enjoyed it :)
Thanks for the fav !

ganz cool! &mdash 10/17/06 - 07:23:59 PM
The opening bass riff so cool, and I love the rain (wish it was coming
down here!). I'd probably like to hear the bass louder, but hey, I'm a
bass player :) Your beats/drums sound really creative, and the pads
work really well. Not sure about the sitar - maybe it will grow on me.
Very nicely assembled and produced - sounds good.

Thanks Neil :) &mdash 10/20/06 - 01:40:51 AM
Vielen Dank ! I am glad you like it - if you play it loud you will have more bass
and the raingod might be inspired too ;)

Good textures &mdash 10/17/06 - 07:50:04 PM
NIce overall production and good and very tastful usd of effects that set the soundstage nicely but do not overwhelm the piece. Welcome back to earth. [ Reply to This ]

Favourite .. &mdash 10/18/06 - 12:04:51 PM
.. bit was just before the 3/4 mark and this groovy little guitar loop
came in and things just gelled together (I'm biased I guess)- would
thus like that little hook/piece to be up in mix and feature a bit more
often, like a returning theme, maybe played on different instruments.
The bass is fab, the rain is cool, as is the stuttering/slowing/dragging
drums ..or "fucky rhythm" :O as Haribo puts it ..
.. I agree you just need the do the film to match the soundtrack and
your sorted ... perhaps you had something in mind? This could be
said aliens arrival to earth (finding the weather not much to their
liking), having a toddle about, then start to find they are tired and
exhausted .. caught a cold .. wait - that's been done ..doh. [ Reply to This ]
Thank you very much for listening Alan ! &mdash 10/20/06 - 01:07:22 PM
And for taking the time to write such a long comment !
I had something like this in mind because I did some "space" tracks before.
You have to listen again and you will find the guitar before ..)

Wirklich Interessant! &mdash 10/19/06 - 11:42:57 AM
Not even sure this is more "earthly" (thank God!) but your experimental approach is totally fresh and creative. Sag, wie kreierst Du eigentlich diese beats? Mixed loops, oder programmierst Du alles from scratch? Beeindruckend jedenfalls! The whole piece has a nice organic flow without being predictable and sitar/tamboura sounds add interest. Hat mir echt gefallen!! [ Reply to This ]
Thank you very much for listening Parichayaka ! &mdash 10/20/06 - 01:20:49 PM
I really appreciate your kind words !
The drums are modified loops (Trip Hop and Hip Hop) the other sounds I tried
to play on my new Keyboard.
Unfortunately I have no musical skills at all ..(

As I'm listening I'm looking out the window at this rainy Fall-in-Oregon
day. What a perfect soundtrack. As per usual your composition and
production skills shine throughout. Very soothing this!
Be well!

I am still learning but the atmosphere you are talking about is the one I wanted to express in this tune.

ambient &mdash 10/20/06 - 01:20:47 PM
a well-crafted piece of chillout music. the production is nearly flawless, but the quality of the sitar-like sound doesn't quite seem up to par with the rest. vince clarke & martyn ware would still be proud. [ Reply to This ]

Maybe I try a non Sitar version next fall :)

your mind is still in the space, but your music is here and this is the most important. I've found someone with clear ideas about music.

Very good, original.
Not only for a movie, but also for an advandure game.
Great drums: 808 snare and tom-toms, electro-sounds.
