Description:
A very simple improvisation I did over a month ago, which has been remixed by Bibanova--who I hope will post his brilliant remix here very soon!

(...Are you listening there, B ??)

Lyrics:

Show me my solitude;
Show me my pain.
I'm here in my haven
Away from the rain.

Show me that I can
Trust you again.
I'm hungry for anything
That will give me faith
Again.

What was it you told me?
That tears are like rain...
Spent all so freely
To be built up again.

But what will it be when
Those clouds have run dry.
I'm wondering what you'll do...
When I say goodbye.

What will it be
When I say goodbye?

Hardware:
The usual suspects: B-1 Behringer and mac mini...etc :)

I downloaded this in mid-listen... &mdash 10/18/06 - 09:31:15 PM
...and when it downloaded, iTunes opened and the downloaded version
began playing against the one I was already listening to... And it
WORKED... At least for the moment before I stopped it... This has some
lovely, lonely, poignant yearning going on... Autumnal, in keeping with
the graphic... What the Japanese would call 'wabi', the loneliness and
impermanence of living in the natural world... Gets to the heart,
Mystified... My heart, anyway...

thank you :) &mdash 10/19/06 - 12:54:37 PM
Thanks, Ed, for your comments here.
There is a peace about this song, despite its definite 'minor' mood and subject.
I like the comment about 'wabi' and how it applies.

Thanks for listening. :)

Let me just say... &mdash 10/18/06 - 09:59:09 PM
It is so nice to have you around... dropping in with this gem. So much
feeling and "into the heart" singing. Frankly, I don't have the words
right now, except.... thanks.

Excellent! &mdash 10/20/06 - 11:44:01 AM
Beyond your beautiful voice, the greatest impact comes from the isolation
of the voice.

Cool rock band! &mdash 10/20/06 - 09:45:10 PM
Nice drums, but the electric guitar is too low in the mix... But i'm not too
much into Heavy Metal.

This is the only stupid thing i got to say when listening to such a perfect
vocal work. You just confused my mind. :)

Sonic sweetness! &mdash 10/20/06 - 09:45:38 PM
I love the tone of the higher notes and the simple intimacy of the vocals with the haunting reverb...

Nice to hear you again &mdash 10/22/06 - 12:48:41 PM
Just your voice, mixed just right... not a lot of people could make something like this work, but when you do it it sounds gorgeous, easy and natural. Excellent music, Cat!

Riveting! &mdash 10/23/06 - 01:10:02 PM
Well, you managed to erase my multitasking abilities for a few minutes.
(Don't worry - that's a good thing)

I just sat and listened (well... I also thought of that multitasking
comment...).

Beautiful work.

Umm... &mdash 10/25/06 - 02:32:49 PM
My goodness...

(picking lower jaw up from floor...)

If I could control anything as well as you controlled your vox, I'm sure
that I'd have to hire someone to balance my checkbook...

Thank you, Misty - That was fabu!

Wow &mdash 11/15/06 - 01:39:48 PM
a beautiful vocal.. haunting end eerie atmosphere but without malice..
Great use of effect on the vocal not too much echo but just enough to give the vocal a presence and as mentioned earlier that feeling of isolation.

I look forward to hearing more of your stunning voice.

Beautiful &mdash 11/19/06 - 01:43:14 PM
I don't know how to say this in English, but this sounds like something that could have been sung by some (extremely talented..) dairymaid on a "fbod" (a place up in the hills/woods where the cattle and sheep were taken in summer to eat and produce milk etc) in the north of Sweden. You must imagine them singing out over the tree tops in the valley. The melancholy of their songs may have been inspired by the fact that they often had to be away from family or lover all summer... Well, like I said I can't describe it, but it was very beautiful. Thanks!
