gentle sawteeth versus piano &mdash 10/21/06 - 08:15:04 AM
Hi Steve,
I really like the soft chord structure in here, and the piano comes and
goes beautifully, like sunlight glinting on the water. Unfortunately the
synthesizer you chose has a synthetic harshness that doesn't quite give
the gentle backing sound, it is a very foreground "sharp" sound. I would
suggest choosing a softer synth, maybe double that track and use two
different sounds panned apart a little (maybe a vox, but NOT Bondi
Breath, smirk, and maybe a brass or flute) and keep the volume low, so
the piano work can shine through.
ttfn,
Drakonis

Thanks Drak! &mdash 10/21/06 - 11:13:19 AM
It's so good to get your feedback on this I will have a go at what you suggest!
The 2 pan thing sounds interesting I kaughed at the sawteeth bit in the title I
suspected then that I used the wrong synth.
Thanks Drak - back to the drawing board as the saying goes! (in England)

Thanks Roxy - as usual, you put me in a different place (with your poetic
description) other than sat at my computer.

Thanks

Nice flow... &mdash 10/23/06 - 02:18:52 PM
..and nice ambient feeling. Creating a nice emotional response also. The
piano in the background could either be louder, or the string sounds (or
synth sounds) could be backed off. The piano sounds really good .
