Description:
My first song here. I hope indulgence !
This song is for my wife, because she is always looking police and detective series on TV...

Lyrics:

encore moins Hercule Poirot

What a great introduction you make here with this song. Very moody with great and funny lyrics. The rhythm changes are working wonderfully well. - Walter

Thanks Michael. I'm glad you enjoyed this.
Not really a love song but a little wink to my wife far from me at this moment.
At the beginning, it was an instrumental project but this last week-end, alone
at home, I had it in mind to put quickly some lyrics and post to my wife, and
on MacJams !

Merci mille fois.

Tres Bien &mdash 10/30/06 - 09:02:59 AM
I really like the blend of instruments in this song. The instrumental break is very effective and cleaver. It sets the lyrics off and plays the role of chorus without words.

Very well done.

Anyway, I switch to english to not make believe our anglo-saxon friends this is a french conspiracy. Very good song, clever use of various and non-corny instrument (ah, l'accordon...), good voice. Isn't GB and MJs great ? I look forward to listen your next stuff. Well done, mate !

I wish I could write in French but ... &mdash 11/28/06 - 10:52:02 AM
Oh wow! I love this! So many of my favourite instrument sounds blended together in the instrumental sections (I love the mandolin and pipes, they sound too good to be MIDI) and such a lovely tune. It does have a distinctively French flavour but it's also unique in its own right.

It's been very nice discovering your music ... please post some more!

This is a very haunting lament, beautiful and longing at the same time. I admit I never liked the accordian very much, but your music and singing overcame my bias and I loved the song. Your mixing and recording and orchestration are quite good, everything is clear. I know that many people asked for a translation, but with really good songs, there is no translation needed, I can feel the words nudging at your wife. I hope she enjoys this fun gift. Very good writing and performing!

For me it has a Pink Floyd quality to it. I like your layed back delivery and your choice of intruments. Based on the music it seems that police and detective shows in France are rather playful and not nearly as dark and violent as those here in the USA. Well done Blaky

This reminds me... &mdash 01/29/07 - 08:30:24 AM
....of some of John Martyn's electric folk experiments, long ago....

I love that reverby tremelo guitar... I love hearing the accordion in a tune like this... And is that mandolin, or a guitar? Whatever it is, it fits the vibe of the tune...

I wish that I understood the lyrics... My fault and my loss... All these MacJammers from Europe who speak English, and all of us American MacJammers who speak nothing else... sigh...

A nice start, Marc...

To be honest, My English language is very limted, the reason why my messages are usually too short and it's frustrating because I would like to explain more of my feeling...
It's a mandolin in this tune...

The introduction alone is absolutely charming. Very creative and beautiful combination of instruments. When you start singing the mandolin-like guitar ends a little bit abruptly, but everything else is perfect and has this calm and soothing quality which I've also heard in your other songs. I'll keep coming back to your page, your music is positive, inspiring and perfect to take a break, sit back and enjoy.
