Lyrics
Wondering when,
has life got an ending
are we not appending
to lives that have been.

We write our own music,
we sing our own songs.
We laugh in the daylight
and sleep before long.

The life you have lived
will flow into mine.
The music we're sharing
will last for all time.

Yes They Do
It's not the highest fidelity, of course, but some folks here use it.

If you find yourself lacking finesse, a big rock will usually make a sufficient substitute.

Wondering when...
I was "wondering when..." the singing would start, but I nevertheless enjoyed the harmonic backdrop of your piece. Didn't get much of a tune out of it. I suppose that's the vocal. You should go for it.

Still looking for courage
I still haven't had the guts to try the mic...but I'll work on it. When I sing along it seems to work.
Thanks for listening :)

wondering
Peace...
I liked the gentle quality of your recording very much. There is nothing pretentious here... It sounds like you are using 2 guitars...There are harmonic clashes that make them sound out of tune a lot of the time, though separately they seem to sound ok. The number doesn't really seem like it should be dissonant in any way, but it is... I wonder why you put this up in the "classical" area. "With a lyric of some sort, it might be a plaintive ballad...

Re Wondering
You have an excellent ear. I have to keep it simple so I don't overreach my playing.

First the Genre question: I'm a little unsure about where to put a piece like this, folk ballad with the lyrics works.

About the dissonance: I had it stuck in my mind that this would work as a three part round, but perhaps the third part is too far behind. I have a version that my wife likes that is mostly two guitars and not a strict round, only a couple brief dissonant moments.

pin-hole mics aside
I like the way this works w/out the vocals. The comment about medieval jazz makes me smile, but it's fitting: it's definitely got a Baroque feel to the tempo and voicing, though the melodic and harmonic movements have less to do with that. This is a nifty piece that's about six-hundred years behind our time--in a good way.

Happy New Years,

Thanks
It's nice to be behind in a good way. Now that I have tried the mic I may give this a try. Time will tell. Happy new year.
