Since I never learned how to handle a piano keyboard, I have often felt admiration and wonder over such arts like boogie woogie. Often wishing I could do it.
Anyway, while penicling around with Melody assistant during 2000 I had the chance to test how it might have sounded if I could ...

First, you are an outstanding guitarist composer/performer, and a delightfully warm-hearted soul... then you change your name to "Curry" (one of my favorite spices), and now you pull this out of the closet, a really fun piano piece done with Melody Assistant (I used its big brother Harmony Assistant to do my similar "Caroline's Bear Rag" piano piece!) You are an incredibly talented guy, somebody I draw inspiration and enjoyment from here at Macjams. And if that weren't enough, your *CD of music* is available at www.thelostrecords.com, in case others are interested :) Thank you for sharing your gifts with us!

Thank you Drak for one of the nicest comments on the site, (and even doing advertisement for my CD). I'll remember this one.

Get up! - Get Down on those keys! This is great. I kept waiting for the rest of the band to come in - it would fit inside a rockn' roll boogie with all the players. Thanks for digging it up and posting!

and I agree it would be extra cool to hear an expanded version with more instrumnents sometime. :-)

Nice work Cori! My mother had one of the old player piano's with the paper rolls. I just loved to watch those keys move almost faster than the eye could follow on the fast ragtime and boogie stuff! This brought back a pleasant memory of that time.

I'm actually NOT much of a boogie-woogie fan most of the time, but you've concocted a very sprightly and rollicking tune here... Sounds like you've got to think in three dimensions, or at least, one more dimension than I usually use, to map something like this out....
We used to have a player piano, and player piano rolls, in the elementary school I attended...
By the way, I don't know how you actually went about the recording of this, but the piano tone is pretty nice here....
You're just musical no matter what you do... honey jar, ukulele or pencil...

You lucky people who have seen and heard these player piano piano rolls in reality. Have seen and heard them on tv ... but never for real.
How I actually went about the recording of this ... well the Melody Assistant had a few sets of very nice sampled sounds inboard. The piano was one of them. Later I will post some more pieces, where you can hear other instruments.

Your musical sensability is well established here... and i think it's great to try different things, anyway, your musical sense translated well over to this project... it sounds like you were having fun...
Cori Ander
.. guess I had fun (was long ago) .. and boogie woogie must be one of the most fun music styles ever invented ..

What a great site we have here! As if it's not enough to have your guitar playing skills, we get to hear you "messing about" with the good old pencil tool to come up with something like this. Like you Curry, i would love to be able to play piano, but maybe I'll have to make do with midi?? A lovely surprise.
