Description:
I wrote this song in February. K.I.S.KISMET was so nice to sing the lyrics. She has such a beautiful voice and did a great performance. One can feel how much she loved the song.

Lyrics:
Close

VERSE

They live a thousand miles apart
Simple thoughts can cross the sea
Who needs a plain, a ship or a car
Close your eyes, tell me what you see

There is no reason for being polite
No mistrust, hiding or being blind
Unconditional love is always right
But it is a lot more than being kind

She said “I don’t know what to do”
He said “true”, betraying how much he cared
They agreed it was the thing to do
Inside they knew how much they shared

CHORUS

She said
I’m not desperate to run
I don't need much more speed
I’m not crazy to go on
All I want is to float
Just getting down that road

He said
I’m not desperate to run
I don't need much more speed
I’m not crazy to go on
All I want is to float
Just getting down that road

VERSE

To ignore your heart is not an art
Isn’t it easier to admit you are afraid
We have more in common than apart
Some things are better left unsaid

We have no reason for being shy
We’re grown ups, with reasonable minds
So if that means to say good bye
It’d be a lot more than being kind

He looked at her “What is the matter”
She said “nothing”, her hair hiding her face
They said letting go was a lot better
Waves can take away your trace

CHORUS

She said
I’m not desperate to run
I don't need much more speed
I’m not crazy to go on
All I want is to float
Just getting down that road

He said
I’m not desperate to run
I don't need much more speed
I’m not crazy to go on
All I want is to float
Just getting down that road

I’m not desperate to run
I don't need much more speed
I’m not crazy to go on
All I want is to fly
Just getting high, high, high…

There is a haunting element in the nice piano figure which is magnetic. KISMET's vocals carry the track, very well done! For some reason, the track has a Jim Bouchard ambience to it (to me), which is a good thing. In my ears, tho, the rhythm track is too frenetic, too complicated, for the perfect and light and feminine vocals; consider trying drumming that is more seductive, uses less 16th notes, and is simpler. Its like the drummer is playing on a different song.

As soon as you sent this piece to me, I fell in love with it. The music is so moving that it made it easy to sing to. I like the changes you have made to the chorus, it gives it a nice organic feel. Thanks for asking me to add to your beautiful work.

P.S. I really like the cover art too. It fits the theme perfectly.

Thanks Tobin. I liked the moving, slightly pushing drums. I thought they give this song a more modern character, setting it apart from traditional song writing. One could say the instrumentation borrows from Trip Hop and breakbeats, so it is intended to have a more "moving" drumset. But I appreciate your idea for more regular drums.

The only trouble I have is with KISMET's vocals "sinking" in with the embedding music. This is due to my speaker problem. I don't have a good sound reference other than my headphones. I guess this is what I should change soon, to get some decent monitor speakers, so the mastering will improve.
