It's quite aggressive and distorted, which I like. But I don't like how regular it is.. There's no spontaneity here, so I lose interest.

So regular...
Yes. The piece conforms. It's not adventurous or 'thinking out of the box'. I'm a musical coward sometimes, especially when I don't have much time to play with my mixes.

The piece almost didn't make it onto MJ's. I had to listen to other D and B stuff, including your September 11th D and B piece, before I decided to upload it. It just seemed the least-distorted of about 8 mixes I had played around with over the previous day or so.

Thanks for stopping by and listening.

This was a shock...
...after listening to that softly swinging Celtic tune of yours! Although each individual piece may not break out of the mold too much, I think the range of genres that you try makes you anything but a musical coward. I'm impressed by your range of musical interests and think you should keep experimenting (more film scoring for penguins perhaps?)!

What can I say....
Thanks for your comments.

I like to experiment but within the bounds of the (to me) 'norm'. Convention is easy. Breaking the mould is where the challenge lies.

When I've a little more time I'll play both 'in the box' and 'out of the box'.

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
