Description:
Song is about a short-lived love.

Redid the vocal from the previous version.

As always, thanks for listening.

Lyrics:
You Can Call Me Honey, Baby

You can call me honey, baby
If you don’t know my name.
You can call me baby, honey
It all feels the same.
Day or Night, Dark or Light
You can call me honey,baby
If you don’t know my name.

You can slam the door on my fingers
If it makes you feel good
You can slam the door on my fingers
I could use the wood.
Dark or Light, Dull or Bright
You can slam the door on my fingers
If it makes you feel good

Sad and lonely
I will never be your one and only.

You don’t have to love me baby
I can get by just the same
You don’t have to love me baby
I can be an old flame.
We burned bright, for at least one night
You don’t have to love me baby
I can get by just the same.

Acoustic Guitar &mdash 10/29/06 - 11:09:18 PM
Forgot to mention that I used a Guild D-25M for the acoustic guitar on this song. This is for those of you keeping score out there.

Thanks for listening.

A song with period charm,-maybe -a la 1962, very authentic sounding but would benifit greatly from a heavy vocal helping of doo wops or even Beatle harmonys which are not a million miles away from that sound. Great song, well constructed and arranged, but as I said would love to hear it -Doo woped. Excellent track.

Thanks &mdash 02/20/08 - 12:27:08 AM
Woof, your points are well taken. I appreciate your comments and taking the time to listen. This was the first of my own songs that I recorded on GB and was feeling my way through the process.

Maybe in the next version, or remix I can get some harmonies in there.

Thanks again.

What a great song, your voice is so sweet and melodic. Reminds me a bit of Dr Hook

Thanks Helen for the nice comment. I appreciate the vocal compliment.

I always thought of this as a bit of country song, but with a few more chords.

Thanks for coming by and giving a listen.

Maybe Too Sweet? &mdash 04/07/08 - 01:50:30 AM
Thanks again, Helen, for listening and commenting.

When I wrote this song I was looking for kind of a tougher vocal. The guy doesn't care what you call him as long as you call him. But looking back maybe it works as an ironic vocal, the guy says you don't have to know his name, but wants you to acknowledge him.

Actually, none of that really matters. I'm just glad you like it and find it pleasing.
