dark and twisted &mdash 10/31/06 - 12:21:36 PM
juicy dripping twisted illicit love-affair music... the lover that you go mad for, literally...

Very well-written, uneasy, unrelenting music. Bravo! I like this!

as a cinematic soundtrack &mdash 11/01/06 - 02:44:50 PM
I'm really not sure this requires a vocal... it might actually detract from what makes this so effective as a soundtrack... the mix and atmosphere here are great.. the sonic soundscape is plush... but you've really created a mood or set the stage and that is key for this genre...

i found this compelling.. I really dug the little sound effects along the way

exellent job

hey scott &mdash 11/02/06 - 03:04:48 AM
I'm glad you liked it. the thing is, I wasn't thinking about cinematic genre while doing this track, it actually came after, when I was looking for a genre in the genre list... My first idea was to do a post-new-wave-DF-instrumental track, but did not find any thing close enough in the list :-)

oh and by the way, we might get the chance to listen to a vocalized verion... sooner or later... so we'll see!

you need samuel L jackson &mdash 11/01/06 - 06:13:24 PM
to say stuff over it... stuff of great importance and urgency.

i think we should collab. you know what i'm always missing? bass. you got bass. this song has bass.

be serious. this is awesome. i'm adding to favorites.

Nice nice nice nice btw with the dirty "strings" at the end? What? --pax

you get to see Samuel, say hello to him from me :()

I may have the bass but you, you definitly have the voice (I just checked your last post, very cool). I'd be very please to try something with you, like a collab. just keep in touch / send me a note if you have any idea or whatever. see yaaaa!

Data,
I can't say I "understand" this kind of music as I am mostly a classical-trained composer, but I did find it very interesting and seductive. I am particularly drawn to the low bass throughout. The celli (?) ... very disturbing--probably just the way you wanted them to be. It is impossible to "get away" from your insistent drive. I'd say this is a huge success and offer my congratulations. (I hope I am not speaking out of turn as one who is loathe to critique something I don't really understand. Thanks for opening my eyes a bit.

hey Paul &mdash 11/02/06 - 04:04:52 AM
I really appreciate you stopped here, listened and left this comment. I'm even more please to see that, as a classical trained composer, you found some interests listenin to it. the twisted cello part is nearly an accident, it's what happen sometimes when you mess with da computer... but I'm definitly happy with this twisted feeling indeed. I'm happy with the low bass too cause, it nearly sounds as a real live bass, happy midi!

now I'm very curious to hear your classical compositions, I'm gonna check them sooner or later :-)

Fight Club &mdash 11/01/06 - 11:07:43 PM
Ever seen that movie Fight Club? That's what I'm thinking about here. It's like music you hear when the criminals are going over their plans.
Fun stuff man!

Nice and Dark &mdash 11/02/06 - 01:30:42 PM
I love how you kept the bass really simple and present. Then you kick it up towards the middle with the crazy cello part. Very brooding atmosphere to this. I like!

You know, I really like paxeden's idea of getting Sammy Jackson's voice saying urgent, important things over this. That would just fit too perfectly! Anyway, I dug this, very ominous and serious sounding with a good beat.

I like this, Data &mdash 11/03/06 - 01:57:09 PM
Nicely balanced little chunk of some strange funk. I know that you mentioned that you don't have a new sound, but you haven't been using the Datablender thingy on these last few post. I like both, of course..., but I really like none-pureed pieces you've been putting out lately. This one had kind of a dark contemplative feel to it...

Thanks - Dion
