Description
Well - Cori Ander put THIS Swingy Thingy up for participation.I was slightly reluctant as his music sounds kind of pure without any 'stuff' on top of it.But..well nothing ventured..
Don't ask me what the lyrics are about though - they were slightly inspired by the fact I'm seeing a girl whose other half left her for someone on the net - well - weird

Lyrics
I've heard it said - people have started meeting on the line x2
My woman left her man and across the ocean he be flyin'

If you got time, dont y'all be lying in the sun x2
Cos the weather keep changing - the time to walk the moon has come

All the people unkind kind me drinking whiskey all the time x2
Lonely people - remember the spirit of 1969

The dogs got it right - sleeping while your'e workin 9 to 5 x2
Baby I'll be gone but take good care of Rover - he's still alive

The cheque's in the post - pass it on around the world x2
I'm off into the blue, with a disk full of motown girls

Great Song
Kind of reminds me of Harry Nilsson (in style not register:) I can't think of any way to make it better. Simply a real good song. Thanks for sharing.

Cool ..
.. something reminds me of The Mixtures version of Mungo Jerry's
"In the Summertime" and the "Push bike song". Perhaps the vocals (although a bit lower), jolly whistling and the piano style - although
this is more bluesy with Cori's guitar.

Very enjoyable all the same and well recorded, nice mix.

Reminds me of a tune I made
Reminds me of a tune I made ...

Joking aside: Great! This is really nice!
A nice surprize that made my day!

You got it to a really nice mood, both the singing, piano and the whistling. A ru favourite of mine, though I had part of it somewhere in there.

This is cool!
I really like this bluesy little number. It's a lot of fun to interpret others' music, and you did a great job with this tune of Curry's. :-)

I laughed...
...all the way through this one! Great job Richard. Cool lyrics and the vocal delivery is priceless! Love the whistling too...

Be well!

In some semi-known territory...
...where Leon Redbone meets Harry Nilsson, and they both hang out with Taj Mahal while chattin' with Dan Hicks...

I really like the 'constant non sequitur' scatter of the lyrics... It seems like it's just paint splattered against the canvas, and then all of a sudden you see this painting there... Great impressionist blues...

I really like your singing on this.

Leon!
Yes, Leon Redbone, for sure. Or maybe Dan Navarro singing a Mark Mothersbaugh song in the movie Envy. Nice job, man.

Sounds great!
Fun, fun, fun. Sounds great! Nice job adapting Corri's instrumental; I'm impressed. Interesting to read all the "sounds like..." comments; I hear Dan Hicks (minus his hot licks) too, a smidgeon of Leon Redbone, and maybe a little Long John Baldry.

It all sounds great.

Likey Swingy Thingy
Reminds me of a song you might hear in an indy film. And like the others, that sure sounds like Leon Redbone. On my favorites list now.

Once again, all the good comments are taken...
I surely do hear that Harry Nilsson thing that peacepiano refers to... I just recently bought a Nilsson collection, and so he's a bit on my mind... And I supposed I can ALSO hear that Mungo Jerry thing... And a LITTLE bit of John Sebastian...

Wait, wait. One of the comments that was already taken was MINE...

I knew this one sounded familiar...

[Sigh.]
