Description:
Ok,
I'm slow on the uptake...

Many moons ago, The Orbiting' started a forum for a remix of the song 'Saturnine'...

Somewhere in this forum, something was mentioned about an 'oompah' version...

I'd like to apologise to everyone, 'cause here it is...

BTW, for various reasons, I've had to re submit this track, therefore the following are comments from some 'satisfied' customers...(!)

This is definitely the most original of the collection Alf. Though I
don't think it warrants repeated listening, this is excellent
production and an outstanding reworking of the original. Do you think
Lisa could be persuaded into singing it again in German?
Well done!

WOW - that's fun ! — 11/02/06 - 10:20:42 PM

Electric Lobster
Hehe :D Great work and a sense of humor I like !

I found myself swaying back & forth in my seat, imagining Lisa in a
pretty German dress, and Alfalpha in lederhosen, gelaughen und
gewhoopen... wait, maybe that's a little much. This was hilariously
delightful! Extremely talented orchestration and torquing the song
into something completely different. I loved this total (verr:uckt)
makeover! I'll be smirking all night now! Very well done!
ttfn,
Drakonis

Oddly enough I was playing this sort of music just last night. You reckon Lisa would be up to doing some yodelling or some alphorn playing for the Swiss Band I'm in?

Anyway, this is crazy and had me in stitches. Nicely produced and you did a pretty decent job of fitting in Lisa's words into the 3/4 timing. Congrats Alf!

Great idea, and very well executed!

I was just waiting to hear a large tent full of drunk people join in and sing along.

Put a smile on my face and a favorite on my list!

Absolutely Wonderful &mdash 11/05/06 - 12:46:33 PM
Alf, I've already told you how much I love this and how absolutely impressed I am with the job you did chopping up the vocal to make this fit, but wanted to be sure to leave my thoughts here for posterity.

You have such a terrific sense of humor and that's obvious listening to this. When I said oompah, I never in a million years thought that someone would even try it, let alone pull it off, but you did!

I do also want to say that you did a terrific job mixing the instruments. From my brief forays into JP4, I know that it can be difficult with orchestral stuff.

Thank you so, so much for taking this on and I couldn't be more delighted with it.

Karma, thank you for the compliment...JP4 is s fantastic 'extra' to have w/ GB, as one has access to so many more instruments. Your imagination can run 'wild'...! ;)

An amazing version Alf! It takes a certain kind of mind to do something like this - but I'll keep quiet about it if you will : ) Great sounds there - could have been at the Candelo Bowling Club Oktobersest!

...Neil,
You know...
I really wish I had it ready for the Candelo Oktberfest!
I reckon we'd look great in lederhosen!

At least after a few biers, sauerkraut, & wurst!

(Look out Sapphire Coast Concert Band in October 2007!)

That is one clever remix! What I thought was kinda ironic- when celebrating Oktoberfest, everyone probably does fall down at some point :P Anyway, this version was very cool and I wish I'd have checked it out sooner (so many songs and not enough time to listen)

thanks mikey! you know, I actually thought about 'we all fall' also!

I'm glad you picked up on this! ;)

(Also, did you pick up on the 'wedding march' melody quote during the 'it's my wedding day & you didn't like my gown' verse?) ;)

Cheers! :)
