woooow &mdash 11/05/06 - 05:51:20 PM
Rob, Eduard, this is just wonderful. The electric piano really sets the mood, and pulls the listener into a wonderful dreamy world. Eduard, I didn't hear the original (yet), but I experience some medieval underlying melody. That must be yours for sure. And Rob, you managed to embellish this wonderful melody with very tastefully chosen instruments and arrangements. Yes guys, this is great. An instant fav and a high rate from this guy...

hehe &mdash 11/05/06 - 11:08:48 PM
Well, I will be very interested to hear your opinion of the original then, as well! It is much more traditional, not as spacey as this became. Maybe it will become a musical arms/claw race between the lobster and myself... who can make this tune more and more interesting :-)

Drakonis

Hey, I love you both, guys... don't do this to me! This is not about better or worse, winning or losing... But OK, I will comment Eduard's version as well. Promise that neither of you will break my neck...

It's no contest... &mdash 11/06/06 - 02:46:35 PM
Aw, a little competition is a good thing, as long as its fun. :-) Rob has great talents that I'll never be able to achieve, but he's very graciously been teaching me (by letting me study one of his GB files, for example.) I didn't mean to put you between a rock and a lobster, Walter... I was just interested in your honest opinion on mine, too. But I think you knew that :-)
ttfn,
Eduard

We have made some mistakes - you sent me the file of your previous version that gave me the chance to see what you have done there.
And of course made this version possible - ha you fool !
I was so stupid to show you my files of another tune - aaarrghh !

But now it's up to you to chose the weapons !

Keyboard and mouse - ok meet you at dawn !

some thoughts &mdash 11/05/06 - 10:06:21 PM
the central gravity well dominates all about this realm... and yet, sinsuoidal rings... i be floating... an orbiting orb am i, drawn into the gravity well... yet always escaping by virtue of my momentum... all about me the gravitational pull of my brothers and sisters toss me through space on my own unique path in the space-time continuum... i am forever, i am a moon of Saturn.

Listening sideways &mdash 11/05/06 - 10:54:07 PM
The way you had some of my percussion turned into star-beacons, and other oddly tuned synths, really gives this piece an outer-space feel... very different from my original. I am impressed by your ability to do your own style of orchestration and synth blending to get a strong "Electric Lobster" sound, no matter what you work on. That's fun! Thank you for taking the time to experiment with my funny little tune... well done!
ttfn,
Drakonis

You are too gentle - it was my pleasure to let me use your song to change it into something different !
But you invented it - not to mention my limited abilities is very nice :D

Yes, this is delightfully spacey. It's funny how Eduard's tunes keep morphing into new creatures. Very nice, Rob. :-)

Thank you very much for your comment Roxanne ! &mdash 11/11/06 - 12:29:59 AM
I just had not installed the right Jam Pack (4) - so it started with different sounds right away - and I moved all instruments into other software instruments (changed some settings of the "old" copied and cut some parts ..) - well I have some different taste on sounds - that 's all :)
Very glad that you enjoyed it !

nice &mdash 11/06/06 - 02:37:06 PM
very spatial and dreamy. the lead instuments seem to radiate life on this. kudo's to you both. Sounds like the lobster had some midi files to work with. I can hear the placement but the sounds are re arranged. I must be in smokeyvw's space time continuum. it could also be because i just got out of a smokey vw.
