Thanks for the kind words! Interesting comment since this was used for the
local MADD campaign...just kidding!

Scholz Rockman?!
Holy cow! Anyway, how about a "live" comment (written
as I listen)...
OK, first impression is this might be my favorite song in
this genre. LOVE the sound. Love the transitions. I'm
jammin' here. Love the mix of different themes.
Wondering what's looped and what's not: GREAT sign.
Love the synth lead about midway through. Nice jazz feel
here at the end with some wonderful guitar. Crap, I can't
find anything to complain about. Beautiful work.

Scholz Rockman?!
I know! Can you believe it! I reached back far. I needed a preamp and since I
was doing this in bed and the Rockman came to mind. I didn't want to use my
guitar rig so I had to rummage deep in one of my chests for it. Thanks for the
comments! The piece was influenced solely by the synth pad at on the first
section. I built the whole tune around it. Often a loop or sound will drive me
to create something around it. It's like a launching pad for ideas. Ok so what
was looped. Here's what was NOT: The time delayed pizzicato guitar fills in
the beginning; the octave pedal synth lead in the first section, the disco
rythym guitars during the guitar solo outro and of course the guitar solo.
Please note: the chicken picked funk rythym guitar is a loop, which is fairly
well known in GB. What attracts me to GB is the challenge of using what's
there and creating something new. While I appreciate the ability to use GB as
a synth module/MIDI unit live it's the challenge of making something out of
the constraint of the prexisitng loops. It's similar to collaborating with
someone on a tune. It's as if someone wrote some fragments and said;
"Here's what I got so far, see what you can come up with." Fun...

Thick!
I love how this song seems to just fill up my
speakers with electronic ambience! Great production
and fluid sound. Another shining example how well
loops can be used to compose a song.

Thanks! I had fun. This was my first song I did in GB. I have another one
which I'll post soon.

Wonderful production
The sound of this track is wonderful. And much of the
playing (guitar, keyboards) is wonderful. Great ear for
sounds. But by the end I was waiting to have the promise
of the beautiful textures flow into some sort of melody or
something to make it more like a song. In the end, it
became a wonderful collection of sounds but no longer
compelled. I look forward to future works in which you
craft a melody or create a dramatic curve. 7-8-6-7.

Wonderful production
Thanks! Great analysis! Yeah it really is more of a mood peice than a
traditionally structured song form. I think there are a lot of take off points
where a more traditional narrative arc could be created. I think there are
'mini' melodies and drmatic curves but nothing that stands out and has you
whistlking the tune down while you walk down the street. Come to think of it;
alot of the ELECTRONICA(Trip Hop, Down Tempo, Up Tempo, Lounge, House,
Shag, Ambient Chillout Psy, Trance, etc.) does not leave one with a
memorable melodic hook but more of a shape or mood. Thanks agoin for
your comments.

Way good
Over the top! You've cut a deep and rich groove.
Cameron said 1944 days ago (July 30th, 2004)
rich textures
You integrate all the interesting sounds together very well
into a pleasing whole. This track is especially neat to me
because of the energetic beat combined with an almost
symphonic sound. It creates a sense of urgency and
expectation....what's around the next musical corner?

I like the fading in and out; the transition to the second
main section is wonderful! The harmonies are cool and
jazzy; sort of reminds me of upbeat cocktail music there.
Shades of George Benson and Pat Metheny.

It seems like this song was two distinct sections. I like the
flow from one to the other but perhaps each section could
be separate songs in their own right, if developed more.

I'm curious why you used that particular artwork. It's very
nice but somehow the visual image didn't quite match the
music, for me anyway. (Purely subjective...)

GREAT job!

Evocative
To be honest, i think i've tried to use a few of these loops
before but they havent turned out this great, that's why i
haven't submitted any yet. I like this more funky version
of the techno/dance genre, great job.

But the painting is so.
What does this remind me of? I forget. Anywhats, good
job. Solid song. Which loops did you create and which not?
Are they all stock? Even if so, splendid arrangement. Very
subtle.

Whoa. Nice middle part. Are you playing the keys? Herbie
Hands to the miffin MAXX! Beyond the MAXX! Send me a
note if you ever wanna collab. I LOVE the keys.

I gotta say, I wish you dropped it after the synth keys.
Piano and guitar was a bit much. Naturally, they are a
testament to your great skill in these multiple areas, but I
think you tried for too much with this song. In fact, I'm
suspicious... was this two songs originally?

Suspecticiously delicious,

F

But the painting is so.
What? Uhhh...read from my earlier post in response to an EMail

(The piece was influenced solely by the synth pad at on the first

As for the outro, I kinda of like the piano and guitar...I don't think they're
chop laden but to each their own:) As far as your follow up post...what is a 1-
bomber? Thanks for your thoughts!

P.S.
Oh, and I noticed a 1-bomber hit this song. Shame. I
gave it a 6, 10, 7, 8.
