Description:
Title song from my new CD.
Lyrics:
None. The vocals are only vowels and a few consonants. My artistic rendering of the most basic commonality amongst all humans.

Peter! Welcome to MacJams! &mdash 11/07/06 - 08:02:35 PM
What a genuinely sweet and beautiful tune... I love the guitar, both the playing and tone, and I love the singing... Very subtle background...synths?...
This is terrific all the way, Peter...
Hey, put up a picture with it....

I'm one of your fans, thepeep! I think this is a good song. Have you listened to mine yet?
Your song is very good. I gave it one '9' and three '10's in the voting. This song is so good, it's awesome. If I had written this song, I would be so proud of myself. And as I said before, welcome to MacJams....
I hear you were a friend of my dad's. You have a great sense in song and in melody, and it's just stunning.
Sincerely, and hope to be your friend,
thepeep [ Reply to This ]
thanks &mdash 11/09/06 - 08:27:47 PM
HI Peep,
I'm glad you like my song. Thank you for adding it to your favorites!
I still am friends with your dad, but we haven't seen much of each other because we're travelling on different paths. But I still consider him my friend.
I was your age when I started playing guitar, and I've got a lot more years than you, but I think your lyrics (horse-feet) are better than mine! Good job!
Bye for now,

Lullaby &mdash 11/07/06 - 08:45:33 PM
Really beautiful, sounds like drifting into a good sleep. Makes me picture Little Nemo in Slumberland imagery. [ Reply to This ]

thanks &mdash 11/09/06 - 08:44:47 PM
Thanks for the kind words - appreciate em. When I play live with others I often play it without vocs. When I play solo I usually sing it, but then there's only one guitar and voice (no tracks live).
99% of my music is without vocs. It just now struck me as odd that I chose to put BD up first...
Thanks again,
Peter [ Reply to This ]

Simply Beautiful &mdash 11/08/06 - 12:11:33 AM
Thanks for giving us this, and thanks to Ed for the heads up on this gem.
Tastefully blended instrumentation with a pure, memorable and unencumbered melody. Flows like soft water over the soul.

Welcome!! &mdash 11/08/06 - 12:16:54 AM
Beautiful song Peter - welcome to MJ! Listening for me was like hearing Jobim without the samba (I mean that in a positive way) - I also picked up touches of Lee Ritenour in your phrasing. Comparisons aside, this was such a supremely relaxing piece of music. Enjoyed it a lot. You are a welcome addition to the MJ acoustic guitar ranks for sure.

Welcome to MacJams &mdash 11/08/06 - 04:53:14 AM
Very relaxing. The 'lyrics' are the kind of lyrics that don't detract from the tune - I like! [ Reply to This ]

I'm glad that you enjoy the song. We are all lucky to not hear my lyrics... so far. Hopefully one day they'll come together.

i love this &mdash 11/08/06 - 06:16:55 AM
This is such a lovely tune. It made me feel happy from the first note... Both your voice and the guitar work are simply beautiful. Female backing would be absolutely lovely here - it would provide amazing balance. Just an idea - take it for what you may. Thank you very much for posting this. You made me smile inside. Raw softness &mdash 11/08/06 - 08:27:37 AM
Simply beautiful. The voice ads a personal emotion that is compelling, piercing, devastating in its raw softness. Marvelous moment captured. [ Reply to This ]

intuitive &mdash 11/10/06 - 09:19:30 AM
I really love it when someone has mastery of their intsrument, but still understands how to get to the heart of a matter... I would rather have heart from a nominal player than, vertuosity that is steril... but when you mix heart with a strong technical player... you get this... MAGIC [ Reply to This ]
Touching &mdash 11/10/06 - 03:47:38 PM
Felt this on a deep emotional level. My schmaltz meter is pretty sensitive, but this set off no alarms--this is the real deal.:) Thanks for sharing this beautiful, obviously heartfelt piece. [ Reply to This ]
Just adding my voice... &mdash 11/11/06 - 12:26:10 PM
to the chorus here. Gorgeous guitar song... but more than guitar. Your vox in this reaches and emotes something that I don't think words could have accomplished. In that regard your song really does touch a "commonality" in us all. Words don't get in the way of what you communicate. Another iPod-bound song...

Lovely music &mdash 11/11/06 - 10:07:18 PM
I randomly selected it, and it was a wonderful choice! The background is a really pleasant wash, and the melody on guitar is likewise beautiful. I wouldn't have missed the vocals, but they blended in quite well. I'm glad you stated that they weren't really words, or I would have been trying to figure them out and getting frustrated. Excellent engineering, too. [ Reply to This ]

Oh my... &mdash 11/12/06 - 08:47:51 PM
I don't know what to say. This is one of the most beautiful and emotional tunes I have heard in a very long time. The fact thay they vocals are not necessarily "lyrics" in the traditional sense almost seems t make it even more moving. Wonderfu. [ Reply to This ]
OMG... &mdash 11/13/06 - 02:23:41 PM
This is so great. I love how there aren't any words to this song, and I'm dead serious! Some of the best songs have few words or no words at all. Check out the song Gotham Lullaby by Meredith Monk(Bjork's version is better though). It's all sung in gibberish, and that's what reminded me of this song. I love it so much. [ Reply to This ]

Gorgeous &mdash 11/13/06 - 03:09:16 PM
Ok, here's my e-mail inbox - full to the rim of new-upload-notifications from my favorite Mac Jammers.
Now, here I am, getting very far behind on my commenting - but do I catch up on the songs I've gotten notifications for? No. Instead I listen to this and discover a new favorite Mac Jammer.
Anyway - I'm ranting a bit (putting it mildly).
This is truly a gorgeous song - it really is. Beautiful playing and I really liked your sweet, sparse vocals on this. No words are needed do get the beauty of this across.
A definate download!
Oh, and welcome to MJ!

Touched &mdash 11/13/06 - 04:49:06 PM
Such power from something so soft and warm. I was crying by the second minute. Missing my father, loving my children, hurt for humanity. Your tune speaks of healing and kindness without words.
My heart yearns for what this song promises.
Thank you. [ Reply to This ]

Wow, I'm a bit overwhelmed. But if you don't mind me saying so, your comments struck a point with me because there is a bitter-sweetness to this song that I wondered if I should reveal (as I did) or if I should hide a bit more. It's why the song is brief, too.
To know that my song stirred such an important part of you really moves me. As I said, I'm a bit overwhelmed.
Thanks for your comments,
