Description:
from the 2nd recording sessions at donny fury's 4 trk tape studio. we had engineering and production help from Mitch Easter, who was rems first engineer and producer and also had the band let's active. the song title and sound was a nod to our friends liquid liquid who were a great band from this era. 1980/81

Lyrics:
same dream again today
liquid joe on the fire escape
RAP RAP the window breaks
asleep I can not wake

sister sits her heart rate up
disease has not yet taken
cold is fast , but not quick enough
liquid joe he turns rape man

cool &mdash 11/08/06 - 05:17:07 PM
Although this for sure was a refreshing band among the pop bands in the 80's it reminds me a bit of Cream when they where jamming live:)

But this is very cool to listen to today. I can sure here some JOAN in this stuff.

I second the call for a Mudmen reunion. This stuff is great! I love the bass and drums. It has a good live vibe to it. The production is excellent. Thanks for sharing. What label were you guys on at the time?

Dead Joe &mdash 11/09/06 - 03:53:47 PM
hey guys - real evil flowers-bloom groove to this, bass and drums are great, and love the lyrics (cold is fast).

But ... the vocal sound is a bit muddy, and the vocal itself needs a little more .. oomph to it, a bit more beelzebeeb in it. otherwise, sweet production.

amazed by what I find on this site. Great stuff. Hope there is more to listen at. At the moment, I spent more time listening to the marvels I can find here than trying to make music... Cheers mate !

brilliant &mdash 11/10/06 - 08:29:24 AM
fantastic sound on this. You can really tell the difference between stuff recorded this way and stuff recorded straight into garageband or Logic. This has a satisfyingly dirty live feel. Great bassline and wicked drums. Couldn't make out what the guitarist was doing though!!! Good work.

From Another Mudman &mdash 11/11/06 - 09:08:53 AM
Take out the guitar and we had noise. The guitar is brilliant because it's subtle yet hard and mean when it wants to be...as in most of the Mudmen songs. Kevin used chords that didn't exist before..for the most part. His sound is almost impossible to reproduce. I know this because I've tried. haha

This is very weird mud bros. Same time, west coast

Sounds like you were more of a real band, very similar different worlds.
