Description:
Mystified and I put this together over the last month. A song about unrequitted love. Mysti also does Cello on this song. My only wish is that drums weren't loops.

Lyrics:
I can see you standing there in the rain,
Colors bleeding in red and gold, the autumn road,
And our story told
In another life.

Nothing that was said could make it the same.
The leaves drift down to the waiting ground,
The only sound is the falling rain
And our words, in vain.

All those conversations...
It's as if we never tried.
And 'deathbed revelations' only means love will survive
In another life

In another life, you take my hand,
And side by side we harvest gold--
The springtime road--
As our dreams unfold
In another life

In colors bright we paint our portrait there
Our laughter is a welcome song
A lifetime long
An anthem, strong
In another life

In those grand tomorrows
All our happiness is shared
And words do not condemn us
They’re the bridge that takes us there
To another life
In another life
yes another life
In another life.

But now our conversations...
Eulogize a love that’s died.
And as you turn and walk away,
The epitaph that you’ve inscribed
Is Another Life

Excellent &mdash 11/13/06 - 03:31:16 PM
Great moody and melodic song...you can never get enough of Mysti's singing! The cello is a really nice touch. Wouldn't mind hearing the electric guitar come up a bit...but the melancholic grace of this one is perfect.
Well done
Steve

Thanks all. &mdash 11/14/06 - 10:33:53 PM
This production was a 500 pound Gorilla.
The kind words mean a lot.

Brit pop at its best &mdash 11/15/06 - 12:57:09 AM
Love the moody wailing guitars in the background intertwining with the cello...

Lovely stuff...

yeah &mdash 11/16/06 - 09:28:30 PM
really great. Mysti is incredible here. The cello was insane. Aimee Mann kept materializing in front of me. The production was sublime.

What pain. &mdash 11/22/06 - 07:14:08 PM
And the pain is intensified because the love died in spite of the conversations. That is truly sad and painful. On a musical note, this song is awesome. Matt and Cat, the lyrics are great, the singing is superb, and the production is top notch!

God bless,

Rick

Epic &mdash 12/02/06 - 12:14:03 AM
The arrangement of this song is very impressive, and obviously took a lot of work to accomplish. Every instrument is easily heard in its own space. The subtle entrances of the cello are beautifully done, and deftly placed. Cat's vocal track is intimate, expressive, and absolutely right for the instrumental track. Wonderful collaboration...

Really beautiful &mdash 12/26/06 - 11:28:48 PM
A very satisfying song in every aspect. Once upon a time a song like this would have gotten a lot airplay. How sad that music on the radio these days is so sterile and unimaginative compared to this little gem. Perfectly played!

Great lyrics and a wonderful performance, Cat. You showed amazing restraint- I know you were just dying to bust out a high C!
