Description
"Awhile back our friend Feter McBlues posted a cover of this classic song and, in my comment on his version I expressed a desire to cover it myself someday. Not long after I posted LIGHTSPAWN Vic Holman contacted me and invited me to collab with him on it. Thrilled with the dual prospect of getting to do a cover of this tune, as well as work with one of my favorite Macjammers, I immediately signed on and we got down to business. We had a lot of fun working on this one. I hope some of that energy is transmitted to our listeners!" - Amangi
"It was kind of a joke commenting on Feter's version when i said darn i was going to cover that! We'll he said he would like to hear it. It wasn't like a double dog dare but it got me to thinking about it. So there was a lot of note passing in class (we never got caught once) on how to approach this as a true collab. Definately a lot of hard work, but a most enjoyable experience to work with a good friend!" - Vic
Amagi plays the organ, bass, vocals, intro & first verse acoustic
Vic plays the electrics and additional acoustic guitars, vocals and addtional drum bits and pieces.

Lyrics
Everybody sing along
there is a house in new orleans
they call the rising sun
and it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
and god i know i'm one
my mother was a tailor
she sewed my new blue jeans
my father was a gambling man
down in new orleans
now the only thing a gambler needs
is a suitcase and a trunk
and the only time that he's satisfied
is when he's on a drunk
oh mother tell your children
not to do what i have done
spend your lives in sin and misery
in the house of the rising sun
well i've got one foot on the platform
the other foot on the train
i'm going back to new orleans
to wear that ball and chain
well there is a house in new orleans
they call the rising sun
and its been the ruin of many a poor boy
and god i know i'm one
there is a house in new orleans
they call the rising sun
and it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
