Keywords:
Roman (1)Holiday (70)Four (5)Rhythm (20)Melody (26)
Description:
I had my in house critic listen to this. My wife said the original transitions were abrupt. she likes this version. It is a combination of the theme from "Roman Holiday" (23087) and rhythm from "FourBye" (24829) with a fresh chord sequence and the original piano version of "Roman Holiday" (never posted) set in the middle. I play all parts except the GarageBand Drums.

Edit: Moved to New Age, seems a closer match.

Nicely played &mdash 11/19/06 - 04:27:39 PM
Not sure aboput "art rock". I'd say more ambient maybe.

Dunno really, nicely done though.

Cheers

Re Ambient &mdash 11/19/06 - 05:11:56 PM
Thanks for the comment!

Genre always gives me fits. I actually do not think that songs with any percussion belong in the ambient category, but I grew up on the Fripp/Eno definition of ambient so that is probably purest talk. On the other hand this doesn't seem "smooth" enough for new age either. In any case, here it is, enjoy!

sounds good, and the pic sure looks good too! :) I enjoy the combination of instruments you use, and the beat. Thanks for posting! The NightBird~

City vibe &mdash 11/30/06 - 01:38:16 AM
It's like a musical picture of what the day at the office might be like. Kind of slow sarting then busier then jumping, then a lull then manic again. Fun.

Thanks for the sample to hear your mix.

an uplifting tune &mdash 12/03/06 - 02:39:06 PM
i like your use of 2 against 3 rhythm. and your selection of the instruments is great.

here and there, i would have changed the pitches on a few notes to better fit the chords...

a good song - thanks!

Thanks &mdash 12/03/06 - 03:30:18 PM
Interesting. There are some places where the right hand doesn't use all the flats that are in the chords, that may be what you are referring to. The part I am concerned about is the half time guitar part at the beginning and later. The attack on the notes is too abrupt, but I don't know how to do it differently.

Nice tune! &mdash 02/09/07 - 05:31:19 PM
Liked the way it built up a lot. I too heard the sometimes-odd pitches you used. Gives it a slightly off center quality but also makes it more vibrant. Enjoyed this very much. Good Work!
Best,
-Bowman

Thanks for listening. This is not one of my improvised pieces so the odd pitches are intentional, I am glad you like how it came out.
