Description
I've done a few big production numbers recently, and explored the Telecaster, but was really wanting to "get back to my roots" and do a simple, acoustic driven song. This is it - and simple it is, with trademark early jig harmonies and "hippie lyrics".
Had a ball doing the 12 string soloing.
Hope you like it - loud is best!

Lyrics
Clouds Across The Sky
© 2006 Neil Porter
I’m just sitting back
Watching scattered clouds drift ‘cross the sky
Contemplating what’s gone wrong
Puzzled by the how and why
CHORUS A:
Will the magic river eagle
Still be fishing on the wing?
Will the gentle ocean giants
Still have their songs to sing?
I’ve been thinking ‘bout a baby girl
And her time here on this earth
How her world will look to her
Half a century from her birth
CHORUS A:
Will the magic river eagle
Still be fishing on the wing?
Will the gentle ocean giants
Still have their songs to sing?
I saw the news today
Glaciers are falling in the sea
No one’s really sure
Exactly what this means for you and me
CHORUS A:
Will the magic river eagle
Still be fishing on the wing?
Will the gentle ocean giants
Still have their songs to sing?
I’ve been sitting back
Watching scattered clouds drift ‘cross the sky
Puzzled by this crazy place
Puzzled by the how and why
INSTRUMENTAL VERSE
CHORUS B:
Have we let things go too far?
It seems too late, we can’t agree
I quite like it here
This planet really means the world to me

Neil,
there's nothing like a bit of 'Jigging Hippy'
A great song!
