Blimey ! &mdash 11/21/06 - 05:01:57 AM
This voice... these guitars... the tune... strongly recalls me... dare I name them ? The Fab Four ? I can't believe my ears, litened to it four times. Fantastic song, brilliant performance and writing. Wanted to listen to your other stuff, could'nt find it. Don't tell me it's your first song ever ! If the answer is yes, I quit music immediatly !

Grazie! &mdash 11/21/06 - 10:27:00 PM
Thanks Youra and Steve.

I learned to play guitar and write songs in good part due to a Beatles fake book. That was some time ago!

I've posted before but am starting fresh with a new batch of tunes.
More to come soon.

Thanks again.

I really like the closeness &mdash 11/23/06 - 11:25:46 PM
of the production - very immediate - is that tapping the guitar percussion? Also the structure is interesting along with great playing and singing. Nice little package.

Great song &mdash 11/24/06 - 08:49:41 AM
Real nice feel and melody. Really enjoyed the simplicity and ease of this song. Great Job.

Thanks folks! &mdash 11/24/06 - 11:55:42 AM
The rhythm track was made by tapping on the back of the guitar.
I just looped it.
Glad some intimacy is coming through.

Everyday &mdash 11/25/06 - 03:44:58 PM
I agree with others who've commented about the Fab 4 influence. Not a bad model, eh? Your song really gets under the skin and is impossible to forget. You know you've got something good when that happens...Way to go.
I wish there were more lyrics, something that would take the song on a little journey...a little story of sorts that would always lead back to the chorus. I enjoyed the song.

Thanks Paul.
I just got "LOVE" yesterday.
George Martin mashing Beatles with Beatles, so good!

I struggle a bit with lyrics.
Storytelling is not my strong suit.
I go for the big ideas.
It's something I'm trying to work at.
A middle ground perhaps.

Thanks again.

Elliptical &mdash 11/25/06 - 04:26:52 PM
Lovely song - I like the way it kinda tetters on the edge of being a conventional pop song but doesn't and is all the more exciting because of that. Fine singing and playing.

I agree with the other comments you're getting. I like KK's description of this teetering on the edge of a conventional pop song, and it definitely has a Paul McCartney (ca. Ram) feel. Very nice job. Wonderful voice, by the way.

thanks kk and cc &mdash 11/25/06 - 11:30:34 PM
I'm becoming a bit more comfortable with the conventional pop song.
However, being a big fan of xtc, i like my pop with a twist.

Thanks for listening.

what a treat &mdash 12/06/06 - 07:11:48 AM
Her Majesty's a prety nice girl but she doesn't have a lot to say...

I read the lyric before I listened and thought "How will you make a song out of this?" and while using your built in mike, you made more than a song... you made a little magic... I love the melody... I'm not sure that the lo-fi is a distraction here... it just show's how strong your whole approach really is... very different and compelling... I would still love to get you in my studio to produce this with great mikes and preamps, but I'm still not sure it would or could be any better...

casual brilliance

thanks! &mdash 12/06/06 - 11:39:04 PM
Thanks for the kind words.
Nothing like a little lo-fi fun!
I rarely have the patience to set alot of stuff up to record.
The next song is always too close behind.

Thanks again.

you have it &mdash 01/14/07 - 01:46:52 PM
Man, you have got it! There's a magical, spiritual element to your nonchalant singing, lo-fi but delicate production, and catchy songwriting that is instantly appealing.

9-9-9-9. Keep pumping 'em out, and I will keep listening!
