Love your sense of humour. Completly unexpected thing, makes me start the day with a grin. Very good play, crazy mix of everything. Good move , man ! [ Reply to This ]

That's better than the 'I Hate Bill Club' that was created in alt.fan.frank-zappa a few years back. :)
I enjoyed this immensely. Are you familiar with John Lurie and his Lounge Lizards (not the Austin LL band)? This could easily be added to their repertoire.
Well done and much fun. [ Reply to This ]
Lurid Lounge Lizards? &mdash 11/21/06 - 09:46:19 AM
Must admit I'm not familiar with John Lurie or his reptilian entourage; suppose I oughta tip my ear though.
Of course this club is better than any hater's club. How could I be hating on Bill? Never met the guy.
Glad you stopped by.

that I'm the funniest guy I know, and finally it seems there are others outside my four little walls who may agree.
Thanks for lending me your ears.

Great fun piece &mdash 11/24/06 - 10:41:01 AM
You playing everything here? Crazy. I could hear more of this - not a longer piece - the brevity is right - but another piece. This swings! [ Reply to This ]
Thanks, sir. &mdash 11/24/06 - 03:41:32 PM
I play the guitar and bass, but I had to program the sax and drums--tried to make them as believeable as possible though.
I'll work on more for you.
cheers,
greg

This is the first tune I've written to make it into any of the 'Picks' lists, at #8 no less--hooray. [ Reply to This ]

methamphetamine madness, betty ford, etc. &mdash 11/25/06 - 06:12:17 AM
Anything relating to methamphetamines deserves all 10s, as far as I'm concerned. I guess I'm kind of Old School, because I believe nothing good ever comes from being sober, or even conscious for that matter. Last time I actually slept (as opposed to passed out) for more than a couple of hours was at Betty Ford, but that's another story. Or maybe it's not a story at all; I'm typing so fast I have no idea what I'm saying. Trying to type one letter for every guitar note. Not easy. poaijf;lkamoj epoik o[ikajp[kfjpoai . there, I'm getting it now. poijjapklk ijapokd
;lka slowing down... here we go again ;lkaoiaj f[aoifalkm
Huh? How come it ended so quickly?
reminds me a bit of some of katchoolik's music. Not sure what he's got left here at MacJams; he's pulled a lot of his tunes.
but it's good that's for sure. [ Reply to This ]
My advice . . . &mdash 11/25/06 - 11:28:35 AM
is to cut the dosage when it affects your ability to communicate ; )
It ends so quickly because that's how I read most bebop and punk tunes, especially the best ones. Check out "Passport" by Charlie Parker. The whole bebop world revolved around spontaneity, and I won't bother to explain my perception of the punk ethos. Though suffice it to say, "Live fast, die young."
Glad you dig, Daddio C.
Cheers,

Looks like people are finally noticing :)
This one does sound a little hyped up, but is has a great combo sound. What were the names of those guys?

Drums- Mac Macht
Bass- Ory D.
Guitar- Yours Truly
Sax- John Adolphe

but i can hear wynton marsalis tsk tsk-ing (he's such a buzz kill). but this be bop in my book. brilliant! [ Reply to This ]
I think Wynton . . . &mdash 11/25/06 - 02:24:58 PM
needs to stop pretending that what comes out of his trumpet is the exclusive definition of jazz. Besides, let him tsk-tsk. Ornette, Mingus, Jaco, Sex Mob, John Zorn, MMW, and a whole host of crazy cats are my army.
Thanks for joining the Swingers for Free Jazz movement. The first order of business: I motion to rethink the name of the movement.

More... More... More... &mdash 11/26/06 - 02:06:09 PM
Totally dug the groove. Great playing, good sounding drums if you recorded live straight into Gb... a bit dry for my taste tho.
THIS WAS WAY TO SHORT!

I'm working on it ; ) &mdash 11/26/06 - 06:56:03 PM
I'm glad you dig, hepcat.
I apologize for the dryness, I recommend a glass of water. Do you have any suggestions to moisten the mix without over saturating it? I can't say that I love a sound that is drenched in reverb.
Thanks for the comments and criticism, it's water for my thirsty roots.
