Description:
This is, I hope, a better mix. Thanks for your input, Electric Lobster and Skean.
Lyrics:
cobran vidas desiguales
mientras los espectadores
toman parte del ritual.
Aquí ya no gobierna la razón,
la fantasía se hace realidad.
Y si algún día logramos despertar
del teatro cuaresmal, podremos ver...
Los grotescos personajes
cobran vidas desiguales
mientras los espectadores
toman parte del ritual.
El espectáculo sagrado
y la avaricia enmascarada.
Luces, cámara y acción
para esta sempiterna decepción.
Translation:
Sempiternal Deception
The house is empty once again,
the blinds are closed, no light comes in.
Three days inside, without a breath,
can't tell if it is night or day.
Quiet please, the show has begun,
the Sun has set, the Moon is out.
Dragonflies take wind, wings to the sea,
Mortals sing their hymn to the immortal.
Characters of the grotesque
take on careless lives
while the spectators
participate in the ritual.
Reason no longer governs here,
fantasía becomes reality.
And if we ever wake up
from this lenten theater we'll see...
Characters of the grotesque
take on careless lives
while the spectators
participate in the ritual.
The sacred spectacle
of masked greed.
Lights, camera action
for this sempiternal deception.

Crazy good pop song! Made me wanna dance and I don't dance! Great performance/production. I like your voice. The Spanish was a refreshing touch. [ Reply to This ]
Muchas Gracias! &mdash 11/21/06 - 01:48:23 AM
Thanks a lot for your encouraging comment, bug. I'm glad it made you want to dance! [ Reply to This ]
I like this one &mdash 11/21/06 - 04:22:05 AM
better than the older mix. As bug put it, a very good song and prod/perf. I liked also the fact you sing in spanish. I'm massively bored by the cultural imperialism that reign over here (almost everybody sings in english, whatever is his native langage). Well done, mate. [ Reply to This ]

Excellent, soft sound &mdash 11/21/06 - 08:50:49 AM
The voice is beautiful and I love the clear, crisp sound of this. Be careful, the sound of the Spanish will get the girls cheering. Well done! [ Reply to This ]

Good song! &mdash 11/21/06 - 05:59:51 PM
Good song in the genre - a little too electro for my usual tastes (would probably have liked to have heard some real guitars and bass), but an excellent post nonetheless. I particularly enjoy the Spanish lyrics - I really enjoy the international nature of MJ, and the sounds of other cultures. Then I look and see you're in Kansas City :)
You have a really good voice and can obviously handle a keyboard.

I really appreciate all of you for listening to my song and taking the time to leave me some comments. Jiguma, I promise I'll do something with real guitars and bass pretty soon, I've just been in an electronic mood! Again, a big thanks to everybody. -Sergio [ Reply to This ]

Didn't notice there was new mix out :-O
The song was very good before but now it is even better !
I like how the synthesizers are now much more present.

your feedback... &mdash 11/24/06 - 09:12:03 AM
...made me go back and remix it, so i'm very grateful to you! you were right about the beats being too lound and the synths too low, it's funny how after hours and hours of listening to it i just couldn't realize that. then once i went back to hear it with your comments in mind, it all made sense. so, again, robert, thanks for your help and for listening! UNbelievable. &mdash 11/26/06 - 06:10:47 PM
the lyric to this song is stunning. I'd love to work with you on something to do with this song. I've been off the map for a few weeks due to major life things and i'm sorry i've been incommunicado. Have you ever listened to the music "soundtrack" to cirque du soleil? specifically alegria? I feel like I want to hear something very epic and global village enter into the mix around half way.... something that just punctuates what you are saying. I would love to try to add the part I thought of and just send it to you to hear...even if you did nothing with it. all of your music inspires me so much... it makes me want to write instantly... just drop what i'm doing and write. Very poignant. [ Reply to This ]
j'aime le cirque du soleil ! &mdash 11/26/06 - 07:20:39 PM
a few years ago i saw "alegria" in mexico city, it was absolutely breathtaking. i've also seen them with "nouvelle experience" and another show the name of which escapes me. i've always loved cirque du soleil music and was taken by your comment, given that the soundtrack to 'alegria' is one of my all time favorites. i'd love to hear what you want to do with this, please go ahead with your ideas and let me know if you need the files. Cool! &mdash 12/12/06 - 03:21:58 AM
That's a cool sound. I didn't expect the vocals, thought it was an instrumental. But they really cool. I'll have to show my wife these lyrics too since she thinks song lyrics aren't as good as poetry. It's cool how you got a dark sound for the song but still has a dance feel to it. [ Reply to This ]
