If it weren't for Feter, I would not have found you. Welcome to MJ Ian! I listened to and faved all of the work you have posted so far, but left off commenting for your most recent post so I wouldn't keep repeating myself. :-) Your wonderful music brings me back to a very happy time in my life; the years I and my wife and children lived in Spain. Many nights we would tapa hop through Jerez, Puerto de Santa Maria, and Cadiz, meeting people and enjoying the music and dancing. What wonderful times those were! Thank you for the memories and God bless, Rick Check out my latest song called Picture of Perfection (MJRF)

Great Interplay I love your playing and style. The interplay between guitars is very enjoyable. It%u2019s almost like they%u2019re dancing. My only complaint is with the track panning. At times it seemed a little weighted to the left channel in my headphones. It is a job well done, nonetheless. |

interplay!!! Definitely interplay is what this piece was about. Though I recorded the rythm in mono, giving equal volume to both channels, the improvisations were done in stereo with one mike, so they came out mostly on one channel. I forgot to set the lead track on mono. This may give the effect of three guitars in a room, two rythm, one lead. I also may have mixed it with the lead track to loud, which might be a bad idea, because, as you point out, dancing between two guitars is going on, so they might be both better at the same volume. Thank you for listening, and the constructive criticism, it well help in any futur remixes of this piece. --- I am finding there is a great mystery tied up in nine-fifths, visit my blog at: http://my.opera.com/eanbardsley/blog/ Check out my latest song called The Meeting

Espaņa This song reminds me of Granada. Great mood with the Flamenco style. I would play with the panning just a little. Otherwise, great playing. Check out my latest song called Loop Lexicon

Great Idea Yes, I could play with the panning a bit, great idea. Granada is where I went when I went to Spain the first time, then a second time to Madrid. Granada and Madrid are always on my mind when I play. I went to Italy a few times, and I am very much an admirer of California Chapparal and Northwest forests, my romping grounds. --- I am finding there is a great mystery tied up in nine-fifths, visit my blog at: http://my.opera.com/eanbardsley/blog/ Check out my latest song called The Meeting

Aha!!! Aha!!!... Mike, you got it: I have been rather reserved up to now, for the sake of understanding the nuances of the guitar, but now I am trying to let go a bit with what I have learned. While my rumba was harder to play, this is harder to do!!! nice Sounds really nice, this is minor cause the playing is good. And I know it can be a chore to do. Your chordal flamenco right hand type flamenco srumming could go up a bit in volume cause the lead is more pronounced and overshawdoes a bit. Your right stumming is real nice here and well as the lead. Hope you don't mind that bit of advice on the recording, cause it could serve you well when you record again. it's nice to hear this stuff. Thanks Tiler Tiler thank you, it is nice to recieve good words from such an exquisite guitarist!!! You are right about bringing the rythm track up, afterall this is an interplay between two guitars. This is exactly how I will record it the next time around. I am just getting the feel for how to mix lead and rythm, I think I made a more even mix in my latest piece seguidillas del cielo. I am working not in stereo but with one microphone, so the big question is: do I select 1 channel for rythm, one for lead. The thing that confuses me is that whether I chose channel one or two in garage band, both speakers play. It seems when I chose stereo using one mike, then one speaker plays. This is exactly what I did with this piece. --- I am finding there is a great mystery tied up in nine-fifths, visit my blog at: http://my.opera.com/eanbardsley/blog/ Check out my latest song called The Meeting
