Very Cool... &mdash 11/26/06 - 08:25:48 AM
Treatment of this very cool riff. I like the layering effect you get with this, lots of textures without getting in the way of the dulcimer track. Sounds like you spent a lot of time on this.
Good to see someone else who appreciates Bing's awesome riffage here.
Cool picture too. It complements the riff's primitive vibe.
Very solid effort all around! [ Reply to This ]
Bings &mdash 11/26/06 - 11:42:20 AM
track grabbed a hold of me and I had a great time(in a trance) jammin along.
Took me the best part of Sunday morning to get it to this point.
Thanks for listening Pete. [ Reply to This ]

is of Little Beach in Maui on any given Sunday. Naked live music etc. Good stuff. [ Reply to This ]
Whirly melody &mdash 11/26/06 - 11:19:36 AM
Very catchy, feel of free but yet growing structure. I like the oriental flavor, just found the guit sometimes a bit far away. Needs a little bit of depth in mixing, in my opinion. Liked it a lot. [ Reply to This ]
Thanks Youra &mdash 11/26/06 - 11:47:31 AM
Yes, I consciously pushed the guitars back to let the Dulcimer shine. I'll have another listen and see if I can tweak them up a wee bit. Glad you liked it. [ Reply to This ]
Wow ... two of my favourite people ... &mdash 11/26/06 - 01:31:49 PM

Ah, dulcimer &mdash 11/30/06 - 08:45:20 AM
Dulcimer is such a lovely sound... The piece builds up well. I really enjoyed the free, yet increasingly open structure. The beat is quite 'heartbeatish' which I also like very much. I would agree that you may want to put the guitars just slightly more forward, but I like how the dulcimer sound shines as you wanted. Excellent collab. Well done!!! [ Reply to This ]
I &mdash 12/01/06 - 02:08:24 PM
liked the way the original dulcimer track grew in intensity-eased off-picked up again then ended with a bang. I tried to compliment that with the tracks I added.
It's almost there but is missing something. Some chanting perhaps?
Thanks for listening lholden. [ Reply to This ]
Yes! &mdash 12/02/06 - 07:55:54 AM
You could really build this piece up even better if you added some chanting. I imagine that you could record a chanting inprovisation and can hear how you would be able to cut it up, put pieces here and there, laying some on top of the other. It would fit. Good luck. Peace, Laurie [ Reply to This ]
well assembled &mdash 12/09/06 - 10:33:52 AM
WHat a sound!
This whole piece has a lot of depth. So many things going on here that work really nicely together. At first I thought it was going to sound a little repetitive, but I never felt that at all, it just kept me drawn in. Nice ending too by the way. Nice work! [ Reply to This ]

happy to hear you enjoyed this. I like repetative/meditative stuff so Bings raga
was right up my street. [ Reply to This ]
Wonderful &mdash 12/09/06 - 01:41:02 PM
First off, I gotta say that given how free my rhythm was, you really locked in the beats for this piece. Wow! And it just gets better. From the smile-inducing bass wah through the kinetic, talking licks - your sensitivity to the mood dynamics is spot-on, you really picked up on some subtle things and expanded upon them nicely, some strumming change-ups, melodic clusters. I'd say the levels are great - like has been mentioned here, a bit more EQ trimming and placement. But solid, solid work (play) here! [ Reply to This ]

hypnotic yes. Exactly what I thought about the original dulcimer raga. It had me boppin around so I had to jam along. Glad you enjoyed it. [ Reply to This ]

Im in a good state of mind to listen to this, I see melting horizons,
dark haired beauty by my side, desert wind, chapped lips, tinkling bells, children by the river, as I enter the town I have walked for months
to get to, real nice, I agree its hypnotic [ Reply to This ]
