There are already a couple versions of this song here, but I now have (what I consider) to be a final version. As well as remastering the song, I have added completely new vocal tracks :). Let me know your thoughts!!!!

Love your voice Aaron. With or without tracking effect it comes off sounding fat and true. Well done.

Nice spaces &mdash 11/28/06 - 05:23:19 AM
The guitar really stands out here. It has a beautiful space in the mix. Your vocals are done nicely as well. Excellent harmonies.

The only thing I'm having a little trouble with is the ending. It seems rather abrupt. Can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe, and this is just an opinion and a technique that's been beat to death, is keep singing and playing and end with a long fade out. But what do I know? Not much, really :)

Oh, and don't worry. I'm not one to dissrespect someone's wishes. I wouldn't think to rip this stream. I was just sayin' over in the forums.

Pleasant listen.

well maybe not final...imho &mdash 11/28/06 - 09:17:14 AM
I think the acoustic guitars need to come down a little as they are sort of drowning out your very good singing. Or at least bring down the guitar tracks a little in the high frequencies as they are a little piercing on headphones. I'm not sure of the shaker...is that a loop? I think it needs some variety. I don't know if I would start the song out with the shakers like that, but maybe rather with the guitar and have the shaker come in with the vocal. Oh I don't know, I listened to this a number of times and still came off that it was not quite there yet. Great singing, very emotive!

Thanks &mdash 11/28/06 - 07:33:09 PM
I appreciate all of your comments. In regards to yours Jim, thanks for your thoughts. The one thing I find it hard to achieve with mixing and mastering is getting something to sound good on whatever system to listen to. You can get it sweet on one system but then sucky on another. I know just in my own house, between my monitor speakers, stereo speakers, and 3 different computer speakers, there is a variety of sound.... hmm, a forum topic maybe???

funny thing... &mdash 11/29/06 - 09:55:43 PM
your voice is coming on top of your guitars through my studio monitors and mix very well. i suppose it's always something. good songwriting and vocals. also good job on the harmonies. another funny thing most of the major acts listen on the car stereo for a final mix. logic express is great for compression and low cut & high pass filters to tighten things like guitars and vocals up. it's an endless job tweeking songs. good stuff.

great harmonies! &mdash 12/01/06 - 02:29:55 AM
Excellent production. Sweet harmonies. But I can't help wanting some drums to kick in after the first verse. I think it would really open the song up to something even bigger.......

I like this &mdash 12/02/06 - 04:59:22 PM
I read the comments, and would agree that additional percussion (like drums) would add another dimension to this song. I really like your voice - you do a nice job with the harmonies, and your tone quality is assured without being forced.

Thanks guys... &mdash 12/19/06 - 10:28:57 PM
I Appreciate all of your comments. I thinks drums would add another dimension, but I wanted to keep the simplicity of the shaker in his version. I may reproduce it in the future in a different arrangemnt.
