Lyrics
i took a ride on a butterfly
up above my house
i painted lines across the sky
from atop colorful wings
looking down below on the tiniest of things
the world looks tiny far below
before it's time for me to go
we'll stop by your house
you can come along
while we twirl and spin
we'll sing this song

Universal appeal
I really enjoyed listening to this. I feel sure that it could be expanded on to make a great track to appeal to children of all ages (especially those big kids known as adults).

A very relaxing sound with vocals that paint a colourful and pretty mental image.
Nice work.

thanks!
Lartin,

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm hesitant to make kids' songs very long.
Strike that, any song long.

Cheers!

butterlies with blackbird wings
The opening reminded me of McCartney's Blackbird. Precious, deceptively simple, light in a brave way, intimate and potentially more than what it seems. The sleigh bells didn't make sense right off, but I stayed with them and had Santa imagery, but thought that diluted the father-child thing I preferred to imagine. Your light voice and guitar work are perfect, I think I was disappointed when the band kicked in. (Consider a solo version of the song?) Love it, tho. Sweet and clean.

Fun, pretty, VERY nice melody- I liked it!

I see what Tobin was saying about the Blackbird vibe in the beginning.

Production idea: I really like your echo vocals, and I think I'd lie them even better if they were harmonized, especially after the bass and drums come in.

But really, a very nice job.
