Description
An emotional outburst of love for my new home in California. And no, I'm not a Jesus freak, or christian. Not have I have any real animosity toward either.....

Lyrics
As long as there’s Jesus and California
As long as there’s Jesus and California
I won’t be afraid to tell you I was born there
I was born there

I carry my coffee and my sheets of rumpled stories
I carry my coffee and my sheets of rumpled stories
And I slick back my hair and walk in the sunset to my glory
To my glory

The earth smells like a piano on a ten year-old afternoon
The earth smells like a piano on a ten year-old afternoon
I slick back my hair and I will walk out to the moon
Walk up to the moon

I love the fields of California in the folds of my mother’s shirt
I love the fields of California in the folds of my mother’s shirt
And I love the dirt in my hands for what it’s worth

Jesus and California

Cool
Nice track mate,

The guitar solos that come in the second half of the song remind me of Blur for some reason, I'm guessing I've heard a similar scale in one of there songs.

And I like the theme of the song too.

Thanks. I haven't heard much Blur actually, but that's no surprise, in the 80's everyone was telling me my stuff sounded just like R.E.M, and I hadn't been listening them either. Keep me posted on your new releases.

Welcome to Macjams
We've been waiting, Great to hear your tunes - solid playing, writing - great attitude/intelligence. Is this all live? No loops? Sounds great - cool lead. I hear East Coast edge on the West Coast.

Hey, Thanks for stoppin in! Yeah, it's live, no loops except for the drums ((it's Joey Kramer (Aerosmith) from his stock drum CD)) And yeah, I'm still an East coaster at heart...funny thing is I recorded this in NY, and posted it from SF.

llllllllllllllllllllll
First off, I was taken by the artwork... very cool retro-simplified illustrated style.
Next, I was taken by the nice, full sound... very pro.
Third, the lyrics were interesting and a little quirky... that's good.
And last... I liked how you guys get frayed out near the end... with that screeching geetar and the shouted lyrics.
Rock on.

Thanks Mr. Nutz,
First, the artwork is mine, although heavily inspired by something I saw in Communication Arts magazine.
Second, trying to improve my mixing all the time, glad you approve.
Third, "frayed" is my middle name.
And lastly, this one one is all me, no collaborators, although all my stuff has appeared on our USER Cd's....thanks again.

Cool lyrics
Unique and interesting.

But it's the guitars that make this rock! Love the riff and the screamin' lead. Gotta learn how to play like this someday.

Vocal had just the right amount of attitude. Great song!

i can tell youre a pro at this "music" thing.
i like how abrasive this sounds. the guitars sound thick! the flow is perfect, to the point that i didnt even notice how well it flowed at first... seemless. im impressed with your vocals as well. usually when i hear more abrasive tracks, i never find the vocals to be as solid, and this is an exception. the contrast is perfect. im trying to be hard on you here, but its not happening, sorry! great track.

I went to school for the fine arts, painting, and taught that for a while, but I am now a graphic design executive by day, and a musician most the rest of the time. I play guitar and bass mostly, do midi synth stuff, use drum machine... [see more]
