quiet on

Description
Note: This song is totally different from anything I have posted before.

With that being said, this is just me and my Casio, singing quietly while everyone in the house is asleep.

Recorded on my videocamera (which explains the lo-fi hiss and ambient noise).

My cat, Simon, walked in and made some noise at the end. I almost re-recorded it, but decided just to leave it in.

Light switch reflection photo by me.

where's the music video?
You can't tease like that and then not share the video of Mr. Nutz in his singing debut! I LOVE Simon in this. He was probably thinking, "this needs an harmonic ending. Well... since no one else will do it, I guess I'm in." The house sounds serene. Let's hear some more! I like this direction from you!

I know... I know...
...one of these days I will make a "visual" video... it just that when I usually record audio with the camera, I have it on the ground and the visual is just the wall, or something. (I'm being lazy and don't want to worry about the way it looks)

Thanks for listening Miss C.!

Stripped Down
Very stripped down. And very intimate. Here you aren't the Wiz, hiding behind the curtain pressing buttons and pulling levers. Here you are, curtain pulled back, exposed as a mere human, like one of us. Shocking I know!

The song is great, and you having the humilty to post it is admirable. Like our five minute challenges, its tough to bare our soul without the aid of editing, fading, reverb, etc.

Once again you've inspired me. Thanks, Eric.

exactly!
...you hit the nail on the head.

I have been wanting to record something like this for a while now, and I think the five minute challenges kind of spurred it on. Plus, I am all about trying different ideas and taking different approaches to making music. After my last (insane!) post, I wanted to do something quieter...

Ethereal...
I actually love the way this was recorded.. the handclapped beat and the bare side of it.. actually improves the mood.. it's very intricate and honest indeed. It would be really nice to develop a track that contains just pure and natural ambiences it would be stunning..

the music side, the progression is beautiful and ethereal! alaways a delight to find out people exploring the true beauty of tonal colours!
would you be interested in doing a collab after christmas perhaps?? to develop something in a similar direction( ;-0 as soon as i am over assessment at uni i will have time )

thanks for sharing!

sure!
I am up for a collab...! Sometimes it may take a while to finish (depending on the free time I get to work on it), but they are always enlightening.

Thanks for the comment. I thought you might like this one.

lo fi lullaby
reminded me of a great scene from "Time Indefinite" a movie by documentarian Ross McElway where he's downstairs alone in his house talking to the camera int the middle of the night. The film runs out but the tape keeps going - so you end up looking at a black screen with only his voice. Very beautiful - like this. Thanks.

Hey cup-0-cheese
This is quite different for you...

I don't know why this went to my core... Maybe it's cause I was sitting here and thinking..., 'what would happen if I did this' 'Expose my self in this way'...

Ain't gonna happen!

Way to naked for me... I can be an exhibitionist at times, but you're gonna beat me out on this one, sir.

So why did it sound so somber-like in pitch and tone? I'm at a hotel and listening on ONE little computer speaker. I couldn't tell the difference between this one and EE's so it'll have to wait til I get back to my studio.

Anyhoo, sorry I missed it when it came out. I actually lost all of my favs, and I'm only slowly regaining them back. Glad to know you're still at it mister Nutz - Thanks! - Macca

Fragile
Hello mister Stun Nutz. Its been a while. I see you online, remembered my promise and desire, so i picked this tune. Just randomly. Although you sometimes sing out of tune, this song is really soothing. The end with the cat just tops it of as a nice fairytale a dad sings to his kids. In a way this is unique. It remembers me of my mum singing lullabies to me when i was young. Beautiful, thank you for being you (and record it:-)).
