Description:
We're very pleased to welcome ghost as the first of several special guest artists to the Garden. A new album concept has arisen from this collaboration, and we plan on inviting others to add their own special flavor to our music. When enough tracks have accumulated, we'll have one very cool CD!
The recent cold snap in the US makes this track well timed. Imagine, on a cold, moonless night, walking through a forest, the branches of the trees heavy with snow and icicles. You hear a distant melody, growing louder and clearer as you make your way to the opening of a cave. At the entrance, you're practically buffeted by the rhythm and the beats. You stay for a while, letting the heat of the music warm your soul. Then, reluctantly, you leave, only to be instantly chilled to the bone by the wind rushing through the trees.
Or something like that.
It's more plausible that John and I just wanted to work a song around ghost's cool beats. Thanks for listening.

if you had not taken it away with this production. Some wonderful guitar sounds in here and some interesting counter melodies to the guitar. Nice stuff. [ Reply to This ]

i think the syncopated glassine pads and synth sounds fit perfectly with your proposed imagery. whatever the reason i'm glad you guys hooked up. really beautiful vibe. almost cinematic. [ Reply to This ]

I love the basic structure of this... and you let this slowly pick up steam and grow more powerful as it rolls along (snowball?) The guitars and harmony/synths/chorus are really compelling, and the percussive beats do indeed give this a driving powerful energy. The muffled percussion near the very beginning I thought was slightly distracting, because its EQ wasn't the same as the crystal-clear synths/guitars played with it, but that's somewhat minor... things quickly picked up and it didn't matter. Having it all disintigrate into a froesen wasteland at the end was perfect. Nice one, guys! Faved!
