Keywords:
Christmas (148)classical (360)fingerstyle acoustical guitar (3)
Description:
This would be something of parents seeing the anticipation in a childs eyes. I put in the tamborines to bring a more joyous feeling.
Being that it was based on my "Haste". Maybe you could imagine a revolutionary officer that is in a hurry, to go off to war but he wants to see his child's anticipation of christmas :) Gad my minds workin too much :)

And this makes waiting... &mdash 12/03/06 - 02:38:29 AM
so enjoyable. Really a well done piece of music, Bill. Just beautiful. Man you own those guitar strings!

wow! &mdash 12/03/06 - 04:34:12 AM
Hi Bill

This sounds superb and your description and graphic help to picture the scene. Like Dadai says you really do own those strings.
Thanks

Steve

I really love the guitar work &mdash 12/03/06 - 08:46:25 AM
but, of course, you are always so sure and accurate on that guitar. The flute at the beginning is a little out of its element, IMHO. It sounds a bit quiet and hesitant. It sounds like it's almost a sixteenth beat behind at some points, and it could be louder at its entrance. I do like the tambourine and string pad. Nice harmonics at the end.

Nice touch &mdash 12/03/06 - 07:22:23 PM
with the tambourines. I'm with Kristy in that the flute at the beginning doesn't seem to belong, but towards the end it does. That's just IMHO Bill. Your guitar work is, of course, perfect!

God bless,

Rick

Lovely playing .. &mdash 12/04/06 - 08:59:11 AM
.. and not a sleigh bell in earshot. Enjoyed this
alot (being a guitarist of sorts myself). I think it is the "attack" or GB equivalent of attack that is by default a bit slow in this for that instrument - you might be able to tweak it (should you
feel the urge) but it's a very small nitpick. There
was a section that reminded me a little of some piece I think I heard by Segovia (I think?).. my memory is a bit rusty. My kids can't wait to open the next door in their advent calendars .. lol. Kudos.

Christmas song &mdash 12/04/06 - 02:32:47 PM
You really have control over your guitar. Very enjoyable playing from a skilled musician. ... But there is more to the piece and I can't quite hear it because you've buried the flute and strings so far back. Bring 'em out a bit so that the variety in your rendering is more apparent...I wonder if you'd think about a "B" section that maybe goes into a chansson in 3/4 time?! This composition seems like a renaissance folk dance and might find even greater expression if it goes off to "another world" for 16-24 bars. Just a thought. I did enjoy the song and the little subtle things you are able to finger with your instrument. Truly fine playing.

I remember... &mdash 12/14/06 - 12:10:04 PM
..."Haste", and I remember liking it. I like this one, too.
Your playing is astounding as always, but I have to admit that the strings sometimes sounded a bit 'weird' somehow... I don't really know what it was about them, exactly, but something wasn't right in my ears.
But that's just me :)
Yet another nice upload!
