Description:
I wrote this song for my daughter Fanny "Pumpkinxo", who is finishing her studies in Tokyo, and will be back in France in February...

This song to say her my encouragement and my support, an opportunity to say "never too soon, never too late". I think that it's valid for all...
Thanks to take time listening and for your comments...

Lyrics:
demain tu pars pour l’eldorado
tomorrow you leave to the Eldorado

aérogare Narita Tokyo
Narita Tokyo airport

ton départ toujours plus haut
your leaving always higher

c’est ton histoire ma pumpkinxo
it’s your story my pumpkinxo

tiens bon la barre pour l’eldorado
stand firm the cape to the Eldorado

at the end of the lane, the projects the projectors

le grand soir c’est pour bientôt
the outcome is for soon

it is not fate it is your creed

et si certains soirs moral à zéro
and if some evenings you moral goes to zero

quand désespoir allo maman bobo
when despair « hello mom it hurts »

faut pas croire que t’es KO
don’t believe that you are knock-out

c’est jamais trop tard jamais trop tôt
it’s never too late never too early

demain tu pars pour l’eldorado
tomorrow you leave to the Eldorado

aérogare et trop de kilos
Narita Tokyo airport

ton départ toujours plus haut
your leaving always higher

quel oiseau rare que cette pumpkinxo
what a rare bird this pumpkinxo

j’ te donne rancard à l’eldorado
I fix an appointment with you in the Eldorado

just to see what you become

ton départ quoi de plus beau
what more beautiful than your leaving

quelle belle histoire que celle de pumpkinxo
what a beautiful story that of pumpkinxo

I've been told &mdash 12/03/06 - 12:51:54 PM
it's much more difficult to sing in french because the somewhat "flatness" of its sounds don't allow any flaw in singing. You sing this perfectly well and your composition stands out. Well done, mate !

Bon, tant pis, je me rattrape : çàéèèéèé.

accents ! &mdash 12/03/06 - 06:26:53 PM

for this comment. Yes I prefer the English language which is better for a good harmony with music, more musical and melodious. I hope to try one day but I have to do a great work before !...

I found myself smiling through this. Gorgeous chord progressions and lovely vocal phrasing. I really enjoyed the vocals on this. I wouldn't have expected the organ sounds in a song like this, but gosh you made them blend so lovely. The tone of this reminds me slightly of an older Dire Straits song.

Well Constructed &mdash 12/03/06 - 05:37:34 PM
This song is well constructed and heightened by the solo section. Good sounding synths and I really liked the piano motiff at the beginning and end.

I agree with Sevel "tres bien."

if David Gilmore &mdash 12/04/06 - 08:57:03 AM

The strings added a lot of depth, but my favorite track was the B3 organ sound. You should have that doodling all over this!

Great to hear some French again... I don't speak it, but I like to hear it! The melody on this is very catchy, it sounds very well produced. However it could have been very interesting hearing a more stripped down version of this song! A very nice song!

And I agree with your suggest for a more stripped down version of this song. At the beginning, my project was just for an instrumental track. Recently, I had to send a message to my daughter. I put the lyrics and don't take time to change really the music track, that is this result...

Marc, I have to say that I'm a sucker for the French language, in song or in the street. You have written a beautiful song for your daughter - I really enjoy personal songs (my wife translated the parts of the song I didn't understand), and have written a lot myself. There is something special about when your child is living overseas - my daughter spent a year studying at Toulon/Var University in 2002, and despite missing her (she is our only child), we were so proud of what she had achieved. I can feel this in your music. We also enjoyed a chance to visit : )
Merci beaucoups mon ami!
