Trumpet Thoughts

Description
This is the first time I have produced a piece featuring myself playing trumpet. It was fun making up a melody to fit my background. I think it came out pretty well. What do you think?

enjoyable music
I liked the overall piece, and the trumpet backing was really nice. The only thing I didn't care for much was the heavy panning of the trumpet back and forth (in headphones)... made me want the trumpet player to SIT STILL for goodness sakes! (smirk) But the recording was quite good, as was your performance. Ah, a fellow Southern Californian too! And a belated Welcome to Macjams!

jazz
Thanks for the kind words about my trumpet playing. I was trying to show my students how to overdub a live instrument into Garageband. I teach Computer Generated Music at a Jr. High.

Cheerful
I guess it's not winter over there? This is such a summery tune.

Very nice trumpet playing, but next time watch the levels? There is a lot of distortion.

thanks
Still very warm. Today 12/12/06 I got a sunburn...around 80 degrees. Loving it.
Thanks for the feedback. You are right about the distortion. Thanks for the nice thoughts.

'feels so good!'
...heh, heh, heh, I just HAD to throw in a Chuck Mangione comment!
Really nice playing, great tone, I like the 'retro' keyboards.......I agree with Drak though....I'd prefer less panning...

...Oh, it finished so quickly....:(

Well done!

Cool....
I like the trumpet in it, I've been attempting to do put my trumpet into a song as well and I haven't had anything close to this.

Nice

Fun
This track is very pleasant. Love the synth loops. Great improv chops on your horn. I play trumpet also, and it's nice to hear someone who can really play.

Actually, I rather liked the panning.

How did you mic the horn?

mic
Thanks for your comments. I used the inpsire audio interface and an AKG Perception 100 Condenser Vocal Microphone. Cup mute and front mic placement.
