Description:
"You Are The One" was a song I wrote in the early 90's and is my first attempt with GarageBand. The lyrics were written in 2004. Unfortunatelly I had a major HD failure and I lost my GB file, all that is left is this mp3.
Lyrics:
Hold my hands, close your eyes, listen to me.
You don't know half of how much you mean to me.
You are all that I need, all that I know...
I love you, you're my soul.
You are the one / The only one
Who knows my mind and my heart
Your lift me up / You bring me joy
nothing will break us apart
you bring me fun / you keep me going
you take me out of the blues
you are the one / the only one
I feel complete, baby, with you.
Hardware:
Karaoke machine (as an amp) and its mic, M-Audio Keystation 49e, airplane shaped desk clock to hold mic in place.
Software:
GarageBand

It's a song! &mdash 07/26/04 - 12:06:53 PM
Jean-Charles: This song, even in its brevity, has a rather
nice feel, a wonderful lyrical quality. Bravo. I'd like to see
it fleshed out more, perhaps another verse. A little too
much tremelo in your voice at times. The violin passages
seem to end abruptly -- can you hang onto the final note
in each loop section a bit longer? [ Reply to This ]
Vocals &mdash 07/26/04 - 12:16:06 PM
are way hot. Try to tone back the volume on that track for
a better mix. [ Reply to This ]
nice song... &mdash 07/26/04 - 03:01:02 PM
...but needs remixing, as already mentioned by mcsweb
w/bringing down the vocals.
Also, the texture had a bit too much "highs" and not
enough "lows" in the sound spectrum, to my ears at least.
The drum accompaniment got a bit repetitious and could
benefit greatly from some variety in the rhythm.
This will be a very good song when you remix, expand
and vary it! [ Reply to This ]
Thank you guys! &mdash 07/26/04 - 03:16:38 PM
Wow, I am so pleased with all the helpful feedback here.
Thank you so much. I am going thru a crazy week
(Saturday is my wedding day), but when I came back from
vacation I will have more time to dedicate to browse other
member's songs and give my input in return. As for my
song, I will take into consideration all of the input put in
here and whenever I can I will upload a new version.
Thanks, again. [ Reply to This ]

With the hardward you listed, I am amazed that some people think they
need high-priced equipment to make good songs.
Having said that, of course it would benefit greatly from some careful
mixing on the instrumentation, but hey, bravo dude. Nice job! [ Reply to This ]
