Lyrics
Flying Piano

pianos can’t fly
I never thought to question why
hot air balloons can’t swim
so why am I hanging out on this limb
strawberries can’t hear
so when will al the circus people disappear
pianos can’t fly
can’t piano fly
fly piano fly
fly piano fly
fly piano fly

These are questions....
...I believe each and every one of us has asked ourselves at one point or another in our lives.

Beautifully done. Excellent dynamically on the vocals. Loved the contrast between the guitar and the delicate piano (I'm assuming grounded) in the background. Almost a sense of innocence to the lyrics.

Thanks!
Nice of you to say KTB!
I've been doing a lot of recording this past year, just not a lot of posting. I just thought it was time to float a few pieces by the MacJams community. Ya'll are being so nice, I'll probably post more.
Thanks again.

surreal whimsical melancholy childhood
So great to hear you back here! You bring such an indescribable dish of delectable emotions to the table with each of your offerings... simple & complex. Of course, my mind kept rewriting your lyrics...
Pianos can't fly, cottleston cottleston cottleston pie.
ttfn,
Drakonis

Great idea!
I loved your lyric suggestion!
(Of course I did have to change my trousers after wetting them from laughing so hard...)

Not that funny, actually
Moving, surreal and beautiful. You're a very delicate artist, Spike, and as drak put it, simple and complex. I was not frustrated this time by the lenght of the song. Hope you going to make a lot like this one.

I really think this exercise was great.
You got some great dynamic contrast, and in addition, you have the satisfaction of knowing that dozens of MacJamers are going to be asking themselves the question 'Why can't pianos fly?'

you made me cry
It kills me that for all you hope, and you even give it a push with your voice going higher and higher, the piano just hovers and then falls. Gorgeous song. I just want to comfort that innocent piano. The circus chord progressions let us know how against mainstream, how freakish it is for some of us to have our goals, and yet we proceed, succeed or fail. thank you.

The piano is in recovery...
The piano is in recovery... we don't know if it will make it, but we trust the it's getting the best care...
I must say, I quite enjoyed your unique response to this tune...
Thank you...

I can't even lift my piano without a trolley
It takes some skill to create such intensity from something so light and delicate. The vocals are confident and assured and yet so achingly fragile.
