Thanks for listening Thanks for listening! Drakonis, love your description of the girl's voice--fits perfectly and gives words to my sentiments. What I find thrilling is that this song exemplifies the power of music to bring folks together through what we have in common...in this case, two dads and their love for their daughters and for music. Sounds maudlin, I know, but I just can't get over the fact that a dad and his daughter from Belgium collaborated on a piece I wrote for my daughter (who is about the same age as his) here in the States. OH right from that opening note ..... ... I felt goosebumps .... the texture of the music is so rich ... and the contrast of the voices from Moorlandt's deep resonating bass to Flo's lilting high notes just fit into this tune so beautifully .... Top rated I popped this open because it is rated hi... and although i grew up with zepplin, yes, stones... ect. this is the kind of stuff i love to listen to now... almost like a soundtrack for real life... as I listened I thought this sounded cinematic... so I checked the corner, already 1/2 knowing what the genre would be... very warm and beautiful... celtic and dreamy... as her voice comes in, I'm walking through middle earth... no wonder this is rated hi Check out my latest song called Good Morning

gulp! Tears in the eyes, chills up my spine - this is exceptional! Firstly I have to mention flo's ethereal voice here - those notes you hit are beautiful, and the angelic quality of your voice was totally unexpected after Walter's part (which would normally be a standout on it's own, but sorry, your daughter eclipsed you here!). Put those voices on top of Rick's beautiful bed of sound and you've made a wonderful song. As a father of an only daughter, this means a lot to me. Thanks! Middle Earth indeed. Awesome .. .. soundtrack. In the music I get a sense of 'Eve of War' or impending conflict - armies assembling and bells tolling: which fits pretty well with a notion of the father and daughter becoming separated in some way and this lamenting vocal. (father doesn't rate their armies chances very highly :o)) The celtic sounds then make me think "Braveheart" but there is a strange mix of more American (civil war) melodies too thrown into the bag. Perhaps this blend gives this imaginary world eg. Middle Earth feel. Passionate delivery and brilliantly done all round- deserves the high rating. Kudos Walter, Flo and Rick. Ok, all this father/daughter stuff has to stop. First that Paul Simon song. Then I saw BT in concert and he had this impossible not to cry tribute to his daughter in music and film, "Good Morning, Kaia." And now this. Quite moving. I love things that remind me how much I love my daughter (and my son!). I guess remind is the wrong word. How about help to express how much I love them. Ok, the song. I kind of wish that Walter's voice made a return at the end. For me, there seems to be a slight lack of closure. Other than that, it's beautiful. Check out my latest song called Vainglorious

Boy, am I glad... ...I bookmarked this when I saw the link in the chat window (I believe it was Drak who threw it in there) some weeks ago. I stumbled upon the bookmark again and decided to finally have a listen. Boy, am I glad I did. This is really beautiful stuff. I'm a huge fan of soundtracks and film music and this could very well fit in one. There were times (somewhere around the 2:20 mark and pretty much whenever Flo's voice was to be heard) that it kinda reminded me of Ennio Morricone's work in The Mission, which just happens to be one of the most beautiful works in cinamatic music. Evocative Interesting. You've kept enough of the instrumental parts that give the listener space to develop his own image, and then there is the short vocal bit where as it were the images have been filled in for us. Just a remark: the girl's part blends in very well, sonically, but the man's part could be pushed a bit further back in the mix. I find it a bit up front. this is beyond fantastic. I see in "software" you only have GB listed. Are you using the orchestra jampack? Whatever it is it sounds devastatingly beautiful. If I use the strings either through my keyboard or what's offered in GB basic it sounds like tripe. This sounds great. The composition is what really makes it work though. Good job! Tripe You are very kind, Lennon14. Thank you. Yes, I used the Orchestra Jampack, but I really worked the individual instrument settings (attack, release, etc.) , dynamics, and effects to get the spacious sound I was looking for. I am no mix master, that's for sure. I listen alot to Parichayaka to learn from him...he gets so much texture out of his sounds in addition to some incredible rhythms. This is one of those pieces that really came together and was deeply inspired by what I wanted to convey to my daughter. I've not been able to match this intensity since. Moorlandt and Flo make this piece sparkle, though, and they've breathed a life into it that seems to really grip alot of listeners. I can die a happy man knowing that just once I was able to collaborate on a piece of art that left an impression on others--it was good enough to take on its own form of beauty. Rick, I already mentioned how I really loved this piece... and Walter's and Flo's additions are really quite a treat, and fit so nicely. Walter, fitting words (from one dad to another). Your singing style did seem slightly overdramatic for the sentiment, but only slightly. Flo's youthful innocence skipped and hopped across the majestic music like butterflies in the breeze... such a sweet combination. Nicely thought out ideas for the lyrics and the la-la-las, kudos to all. Definitely Faved and "virtually" downloaded.
