Description:
This is more a fun project. You should be able to understand German to find the humour in this track.

Lyrics:

[Erich Honnecker]

Translation (I hope it's understandable):

For a very long time DT67 [East German radio for young people] has publicised beat music in their program.

Additionally there was an incorrect evaluation in the Central Council of the "Freie Deutsche Jugend" [free german youth]

It was discovered as the musical expression of the technical revolution.

What was unseen by then is that the opponent (west germany, england, france, usa,...) uses the uptempo of the beat rhythms to push up the young people to excesses.

The bad influence of such music to the thinking and acting of young people was roughly underestimated.

No one in our country is against clean beat music.

But it cannot be seen as the only and main form of dance music.

i recognize the loops in the beginning and near the end,
and while they're effective for sure, i've heard them
enough they've lost their touch. i like the beat, though.
the fact that it's in german makes it more poetic, so to
speak, than an english version would... it would be too
obvious to english speakers of its lengthy
explanatory factual nature, which fits in a little less fluidly
than poetry.

interesting information - glad you provided a translation,
rough as it might be in a few places.

Nice arrangement of loops... and the overlaying of the
Deutsche-speak is interesting too. Sehr gut, aber du hast
ein kleine uberloading mit der mixing. I get some
overloading when the vocals chime in. Overall, good track,
but take a listen to the mixing a little closer next time
around.

kindly kind,
mister fosod.

Although this anwer comes VERY late, but I really like your
comments.
In fact the original voice sample had a very bad quality. I
had to push up the trebles and the upper middles which
lead to partial overloading of higher frequencies.

I apologize for the rough translation.

The former "head of the state" of the German Democratic
Republic (which wasn't democratic, at all and I hope you
all know, that it doesn't exist anymore since 1989.
Germany is one country again since then) made this
speech in 1967 to prevent young people in the GDR of
getting "infected" with beatmusic.
I wanted somehow to confront the speech's content with
modern, fast, techno-like music.

Infact I wonder that it sounds almost like poetry to you
people.
But if that is so, it's ok.

Nevertheless: thanks very much for the comments :-))

Michael
