From Cat:

Wow....Ok. Can I just say I really enjoy the experimental collaborations we're doing, Bryn.
This was a fun collaboration to pass back and forth, as it came together so quickly, and combined the best of both worlds, I think.

Hmm...maybe a bit out of this world :)

Another version may be following shortly...

I don't usually like Christmas music, but I'd definitely buy your Christmas album! This sounds beautiful, the layered vocals are luscious. Overall a great production.

Anoher track for my Christmas CD - this one's going to be much spacier than last year's! Lovely, wierd and calm (and bright). Great collab, thanks.

Christmas with the Sirens. Don't pull me under!
This is beautiful and a bit unnerving.

I like that concept for a CD.
Maybe next year ;)

In the meantime, more collaborations are on the way...

Thanks for your comments, Bill.

The delayed regeneration's of your voice cascading upon itself, accompanied by the unusual bed of guitars and what not, make for this an interesting velvety tableau, that if you don't mind me saying, is actually a little scary... I never thought I would be frightened by a Christmas song, but, well, I think I have.
One suggestion, but this is the one I always seem to make to everyone, I think it would have more dramatic impact if it was half as long.
Really interesting, compelling and chilling work. Bravo!

lovely innovation &mdash 12/14/06 - 11:31:42 AM
What a lovely twist on a classic Christmas tune. Very innovative, yet accessable. Your vocals are superb, Cat!

Accompaniment is very interesting, sometimes disturbing, but somehow it all fits together to create a pleasing whole. It's good to be a bit "edgey" like this at times; it stretches one's ears in a good way. It's not THAT far out, but just enough!

I must admit to you that my partner James likes this version so much that he's insisting on a download. THAT'S unusual! ;-)

Congrats to both of you. Thanks for sharing this, especially "in season".

It's always so nice to get a comment from you, Cameron--and I'm glad you liked the 'edginess' of this interpretation. I've always wanted to delve into exploring the more experimental side of the voice and sound, and yet--as you said, too--I wanted to keep it listenable and pleasant at the same time, so your comments are especially nice to hear.
(And tell James that I'm thrilled he insisted upon a download :)

Beautiful.
