Description
My first finished track in almost three months.
I've had this piece in the working stage for probably 6-8 months and finally I think it's done.
The name has no significant meaning. Just derived from two bands which inspired this. I'm gonna let you guys guess which bands :)
Also, the song art has no relation to the song, it just looked cool.

wow
Ein, this just seems to have such a wonderful laid back feel. perhaps the choice selction of instruments and the progression. The backing rhodes (with that cool effect-delay?) plays perfectly. You can hear those tines just getting slapped in the mix. The rythym section also adds a ton when it pucnhes in. Very clean and melodic. cool track. worth the wait.

You are...
... far too talented! This is great! Feels really, 'up,' captivates me right from the start. I love the way it builds. Everything is so clear and distinct in the mix. There's a little glitch at the very end (I think). Also, it ends slightly earlier than I'm expecting; I think I was expecting or hoping that the last phrase would be repeated, or something like that. Very, very wonderful stuff!

An uplifting piece...
I know that when I listen to any of your work that it will be a musical treat. This is no exception. Well done.

I also was fooled by the change at the end and had expected more before the end.

Have a great Chrimbo and success with your music in the New Year.

Is that an F14 in a tutu?
Einarus... another picking from your lush garden of musical harvest. Took you a while but seemed like you did put a lot of time and thought and soul into it. It sounds very inspired. I'm not really in much of a position to critique songs in this genre, but i do know it has a very uplifting and energizing effect on me... sounds like the sort of music soundtrack you'd like to put on a video of a recent summer tour of Europe or the Caribbean. It has that all-good and amazing feeling.

That art pic is intriguing. Looks like a plane in a ballet performance.

SWEET TRACKULATION!
Genesis is one right? Hahaha! And the the other other would be Herbie Hancock? Those are my best guesses! Nice cool feel on this!

:)
Wonderful pop-prog-fusion. Jan Hammer springs to my mind, although from the title, I don't think that's who you had in mind.
There is a little hic-up near the end in the audio (maybe introduced during mixdown?) that was probably unintended.
Einarus said 1073 days ago (December 17th, 2006)
Re: the hic-up
I did notice the hic-up, and it has occured in a few other songs of mine, as well.
I don't know why it's there, but it appears sometimes when I bounce the tracks, and I don't really know of a way to prevent it from appearing. But since it isn't really that big a flawy (doesn't bother me much, anyway) I didn't really strain myself to find out.

But thank you all for taking the time to listen and comment!

Pro sounds indeed ............
.... from one so young! Great production Einar - some really well thought out sounds, and punchy as they come. I like the pickup at the end, but would have liked it to go on with it in the new key for a while. Final glitch aside, a very cool addition to your collection of great posts at MJ.

I've listened twice...
today with more volume, and this song really comes alive with a little volume boost... There are a lot of synth textures at work, and yet they're never at war with one another... They play off one another very musically and effectively... Nice warmth in the lower end that doesn't get thumpy or wooly...

I get that hiccup sometimes on a track, and I don't know what it is or where it comes from...

Retro synth forever
May retro synths live on forever! Totally dig the Mannheim Steamroller vibe, the 7/4 keyboard groove, the fusion of new age, jazz, pop and hip, and the quality production. There is an undesired hitch at the end of the track, a hiccup, you might want to delete, and let the reverb tail off forever, undisturbed. A very happy song that invigorates on many levels.

Nice chordal movements in here. Feels like Yanni meets Herbie Hancock, no offence intended.

Must dash off to work now.

Very "up", indeed!
Great lead sounds, dig the portamento, very 80s - in a good way. Great movement, and like many others who have commented, I like the place it gets to in the last 30 seconds (and secretly wish it could have dabbled there longer).

With all of the talk about Sonic The Hedgehog, maybe your artwork does relate after all (as it looks like a plane breaking the sound barrier and hence creating a SONIC boom).

OK, so I'm reaching ...

Ein,
Excellent stuff, indeed. As much as I hate working Saturdays, it has allowed me some time to listen to some music, something I don't get to do much of these days. Well, I DO work 2 jobs. :P

Anyway... it was well worht the wait, because this is a great tune!

Iceland yeah!
Man Ein,
There was just a special on TV about your beautiful country. Yipes man it looked in some parts like Lord of the Rings. God! The beaches and mountains! What waterfalls! I keep thinking about the great panoramas while listening to this really cool piece. They should have used your music in this documentary. They showed the native horses the designers and artists as well. Beeeeeautiful, as your music.

Positive, relaxed and happy energy. Nice choice of instruments, a bit retro. The rhythmic ideas and base layer have the usual Einarus%u2122 trademark. Your musical talent is something else. Had a great time listening to this! Every post a winner. If Iceland only had more inhabitants...
