Description
This is a classical piece with the festive idea of a journey to Lapland.

It is a work that I will be returning to over the next few days, with the idea of completing it.

I'm really glad that you liked the piece
The tools I used for the mix were GB3, Goldwave, Audacity and a partridge in a pear tree.

My first mix lasts 7 minutes and is substantially different and has solo and choir tracks. I decided to do the uploaded version because I thought that the first version was too long and would bore people. Maybe I'll be lazy and upload this mix before the big day.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a note.

Enjoy the holiday.

wow is right
Really dramatic and full production. A delight to hear this. Please send me a note when you've finished it. I'd hate to miss it, especially if I have a lame excuse like "I was busy washing dishes" ;-) Watch those levels, though, I'm hearing some volume distortion. Great stuff! BTW, what is Lapland???

The levels....
Thanks for the comments MC. I will listen again, but with the volume turned up a little, to try and detect the peaking. I keep things low whilst I work on stuff as I have headphones on all the time and like to hear the telephone if it rings, or the neighbours knocking (not generally in time to the music).

Lapland is where children get taken, for Chrimbo trips, to visit Rudolph, Donner und Blitzen, etc. and see real snow, and maybe to get a glimpse (if they're really lucky) of Mr Christmas, going about his business.

Don't spend too much time by the sink this holiday. (I'll drop you a note when my next version is uploaded).

Have a great holiday.

Enjoyed
Enjoyed!
I knew I would like it from about the first
few measures with its clarity. Nice arpeggio
with the flated 5th also.

I'm glad that you liked the piece...
All the loops that I used in this mix did seem crisp in their production. (I've sort of screwed this a bit by not listening carefully enough when I have run the finished mix through Goldwave. It shows in the crescendo near the beginning along with a couple of other places).

I'll be uploading a variation with voices over the next few days.

Have a great holiday and New Year.

Memorable sounds
I love music with a melody, and this piece certainly has it, sprinkled with spices of excitment thanks to the percussions. I am sorry I can't give you much technical advice (due to the lack of technical knwoledge). My only gripe is the sudden end, which was cut too sharp (like with scissors), but that is a minor issue. Thank you for sharing!

Many thanks for your comments...
I appreciate your comments and will listen to the piece again to see how abruptly it ends. (I haven't listened to it recently and so can't remember).

I enjoy creating music using computers and 'synthesized' as opposed to 'real' instruments. I have no problem using samples/loops in my music. Everyone does this every time they work with a track. I don't fit in any box and thoroughly enjoy working ou... [see more]
