Description:
A collaboration involving Linda Courtien's (onesweetworld) amazing voice and lyrics and the droning vacilations of yours truly. Do check out the original on Linda's page for an a cappella delight.
A special thanks to Harold (hrluper) for the photo.

Very well done ! &mdash 12/20/06 - 04:39:11 AM
I never could do this (put music to a finished vocal track) - very good !
Kudos to you (both of course) ! [ Reply to This ]
It takes a good singer... &mdash 12/20/06 - 10:02:26 AM
Thanks for your comment, Robert. You know, I don't think I could have done this had it not been for Linda's spotless singing. It's amazing that she recorded the vocal without a metronome and didn't fall out of time. I had a lot of fun working on this, it was a new kind of challenge. [ Reply to This ]

Kenta, my friend, you know it was hard to resist working with this a cappella piece! [ Reply to This ]
I like it &mdash 12/20/06 - 09:10:35 AM
I thought I wouldn't like it with that fuzzy metallic intro, but the balance between it and the woman's beautiful lyrical voice works. i like that contrast. Her voice is strong enough for it. You have a good ear. [ Reply to This ]
fuzzy &mdash 12/20/06 - 12:18:32 PM
Thanks for listening and commenting, Estella. This was a new challenge for me in many ways. I'd never put music to an existing vocal part before, and my songs are usually more poppish and sugary. But I felt this vocal needed something heavy and aggressive. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out, and I'm glad you liked it too. [ Reply to This ]
YES!!!! &mdash 12/20/06 - 09:29:38 AM
You do have a good ear. You are such a great musician and I am honored to be your first collaboration here. I think you'll do well here. I love it Sergio. I love what you've created. [ Reply to This ]
Hold on to your spirit &mdash 12/20/06 - 12:24:20 PM
Linda, thank you so much for all your input and for lending your talent to my digital musings. As I said before, this song stood proud and tall on it's own, without any music to take away from it. But I couldn't help myself and felt compelled to mess it up. In the end I think we made a beautiful mess of it. [ Reply to This ]

way cool &mdash 12/20/06 - 02:43:02 PM
I think someone already pointed out how difficult it is to sync a vocal with no other reference tracks. Just on the technical demands alone i am amazed. Great collab. Linda does indeed have a rich and intriguing voice. Very compelling stuff [ Reply to This ]
timing &mdash 12/21/06 - 01:13:40 AM
The timing on Linda's vocal was right on to begin with! This contributed a lot to the near-perfect alignment with the music. It was a bit difficult, but certainly worthwhile. I had a great time working on it. Thanks, for listening! [ Reply to This ]
