Description:
the finished ..er .. thing.
Thanks to "Good news" (oh the irony) for the lead vocals and providing the singing line - man, can that dude sing, if a little obsessed with "Land of hope and glory".
Special thanks to the following sporting MJers for their kind contributions, without which I couldn't have had a go at adding a boppy choir, choral, vocal ensemble .. er .. thing:
moorlandt - special vox
jiguma - bassy bits, got bit lost in mix dude but your there
slimgirlfat - high bits/harmonies
J.A.Stewart - main pattern that ended up a bit 'ho ho ho', what can I say?
Repulsive_Landlord - male harmonies, ebb & flowing
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone, relax it'll all be over soon.

Lyrics:
I, hate, Christmas oo-oo- I really do,
Don't you-?
I find the-giving,
is-marred-,
by-the taking,
Sad, but true
So spare a thought- for-what
you have bought,
It's not the toy,
But your time with the boy,
They'll remember, so- remember,
December- oo- oo-
So spare a thought- for-what
you have bought,
It's not the frills,
But your time with the girls,
They'll remember, so- remember,
December oo- oo- oo- OO!

Thanks for including me in the fun!

apb
.. in the end I was relieved you sent me a fair selection to
choose from ... Eb's were scarce .. the idea with an ensemble/choir to me is how it sounds as a whole .. so it wasn't of key importance to mix so everyone could make themselves out necessarily. Glad you liked the outcome and
I'm very glad you made the deadline for joining in despite
my full mailbox.
PS. Song 10 on your CD II needs an updated link :o)

Done deal. Thanks again Alan

This is twisted genius! Best Christmas song I've heard on this site. It really made me smile. Underneath all the fun and crazy sounds is a very important and often forgotten message. It's produced very well also. Thanks for posting it!
apb
.. I always liked the satirical "A Christmas Carol" by
Tom Lehrer and felt like having a go ... yes, there is
a message tucked in there .. I don't want socks and after-shave ;o)
Have yourself a great Christmas and looking forward to more
of your posts in the New Year.

Great concept and execution. Love those computer voices, especially when they sing.
Got a kick out of the "ka-ching ka-ching!" sound. May the money flow!
...and may you have a Merry One, whatever, however. ;-)
apb
.. have a good one. Speak to you in the New Year ... about
a loan .. cha-ching! ;o)

Thanks for having me along Alan - I'm sure I can hear me just a lttle - I'm around behind the left PA column : )
Great concept, great Xmas ditty.
Compliments of the season and all the best for a happy 2007!!
Peace,
Neil
apb
.. you are there honest.. but a bassier voice tended
to blend too easily with the backing - I did try to
resolve but didn't really succeed - I liked the overall
boppy carol singer-esque sound from the vocal ensemble
and it being the some of it's parts. Your actually the bottom parts of each of the harmonised notes that I
made with what Harold supplied if I recall ..
Wishing you and yours a peaceful Christmas and looking
forward to your upcoming posts in 2007. Thanks again for
your contribution- and remember, collabs are not just for Christmas .. lol. ;o)

Don't Blame Me... I offered to submit some (juicy) melodic crepidation for this "piece"... which I thought was more in keeping with the *harumph* ...
spirit of it... but Daft would have none of it.
If this is what you're like when you're OFF beer... get back on it, dude. LOL
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT. 8)

apb
.. have a good one too Joe. A few drinks shall definitely be had soon ..oh yes, back on the wagon, fall off it and get
back on it again ...
I liked the 'ho ho ho' side-effect .. it was very in-keeping
with the "piece" - as you lovingly refer to it lol ;o)
Thanks again for being a good sport and putting up with
me in SL. See you in 2007.

it's jesus, lol

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4chan? Not me- actually I found it just with a google search, from a link it seems in "The Nuri of Antos IV"s myspace account - he has the image on his photobucket account: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b369/stfuitsbunni/thisshouldntbesofunnycopy.png
No idea where that image came from originally but I figured the original comedian is already using an image from a ubiquitous Xmas card that the bubbles were added to. Problem using it you think? Pity if there is, it had just the right amount of zany to match this xmas song I felt.
Obstructions
copyrights, you mean? I doubt it.
it's funny.
Enrique Gil
I have never listened to your music before. This is the first time but not the last one. Pretty cool! The melody at times sounds like Pomp and Circumstance, and bring memories not only of christmas but of graduations (played a lot in high school graduations in the US).
Anyhow, I really liked it. Thank you for sharing!
apb
I thought you commented on: http://www.macjams.com/song/25140? before .. lol.
Perhaps you are two people on the same account? Enrique & Gil??
Anyways, thanks for listening & commenting: this was just some Christmas fun/exercise and quite unusual set-up for me in that it was my first loop only effort and multi-collab.
The lead vocals are the Mac System voice setting "Good News"
which always 'sings' any text to the melody of Elgars
"Pomp & Circumstance March #1"/Land of Hope & Glory etc, hence you are quite correct. Just a couple of notes in the melody sequence needed to be changed to fit better with the "kick flip" backing loops and of course I altered the timing with editing and putting "-" in the text to create pauses where I roughly wanted them.
This is great fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's growing on me the more i listen the more i smile . . : )
just started listeningen to you.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THANKYOU & KEEP ON HAVING FUN !!
; )
